Both paths NL to Crewe and return ran. Anyone know which units where involved and which units are at Crewe works??
The northbound one is probably 158 786 which i think has had a full interior makeover including removing its former Scotrail 1st class area.
K

The Neville Hill to Crewe movement has been reported as 158903.

No mention of what returned, but 158786 is a fair assumption.

Another planet...
Just noticed a really irritating bug on the PIS on 158902 on the Penistone line... the warning about minding the gap is parsed in such a way on the screens that you get a screen reading "please mind the gap between the train and the platform", followed by one consisting of just the word "edge" in the middle!

Just the 3 (158906/907/910) are still in service un-PRM'd, so they should at least be away by the end of the year

With 11 156s still to be done. These being 156 425/6/9/47/9/60/1/4/5/85 and 96.
Additionally to above eleven I have just one 156 459 in works at Wolverton since 12 Nov. So unless theres a speed up 156 PRM should run well into 2020.
Conversely for 150s I have 14 still left to PRM (150 105, 107, 110, 111, 122, 201, 209, 210, 215, 218, 224, 226, 228, 268.
I believe several (which ones?) are in Doncster, Crewe and Kilmarnock works so progress should hopefully be much faster.

Several of Northerns units do that... most irritating.

Was on a refurbished 158 (with USB sockets and OOU reservation displays) on the 15:05 Sheffield to Adwick this afternoon, very nice, but frustrating in the knowledge that it's just as likely to be a knackered 142 on that service.

As a regular early morning commuter from Doncaster I did notice that the pacer's usually in platform 5 and 0 today were 144's instead of the usual 142's. 158 back on the 06:03 to Lincoln too, there was even a 142 on that the other week!

I think it’s down to the Northern random unit generator, there doesn’t seem to be any logic to units on that service. I’ve seen 142s, 144s, 153s (single and in tandem), 156s and 158s. The poor people on the Hull service can expect the same, whereas the Bridlington is nearly always a 170 now.

I’ll be interested to see what goes past next year, but I can expect 144s for at least the early part of the year.

I think 156429 was done before 459, so 10 left to go 425/26/47/49/60/61/64/65/85/96.

150105 was or is at Doncaster, whilst 107 arrived at the weekend, so just three 150/1s to go.

150224 was also reported as having gone to Doncaster and 228 to Killie, so leaving the 7 others you noted.

Yes, back to 142's in Platform 0 and 5, and a scruffy 144 on the 15:05 today

Thankyou.
Sad that Northern get such a bad press when not too many units left to PRM compared with other operators. This month Modern Railways lists over a 1000 non prm coaches expected to be operating after the deadline.
As a sideline re "150 119 at crewe having a CET tank fitted" Im surprised these were not done with the bathroom. Could we be in a situation when trains are PRM compliant but still dropping sewage on the track?

There can't be that many 150s left to do now in light of the above? I've certainly not seen that many on my commute to Manchester that need PRM'ing.

I have 5 150/1 inc. 2 in works, 10 150/2 inc 4 in works; 11 156 inc. 1 in works; and 6 158 inc 3 in works.
Prob all but the 156s finished by Jan when they can get on with the interior refresh and repaint of which I have around 100 dmus to do.

Tuesday 12th Dec.
2 x 156 up the WCML to Carlisle transferring to Heaton.
Will then be a regular move every other day after that.

Many other rare moves to be posted ;)

Any idea why they are transferring them to Heaton? Or what will be operating services in the NW in their place?

Newton Heath are losing some of their 156’s (there will just be 16 officially based there) with 13 working diagrams. So some will be transferring to Heaton.
