Apologies a little off topic, but does anyone possibly have an up to date list of which VT 221s have had their nameplates/logos removed? Will they all be removed by December? Thanks in advance.

Things a bit slower with the VT Class 221 fleet, some have shields and Virgin titles removed, some nameplates removed. Don't know what the First Trenitalia livery plan if any for the 221s is.

Trying to keep an upto date list on page 17 post #491 but need sightings off people. So any sightings welcome.

Class 221s are probably not going to have much done, virgin want as much branding gone but it isn't a priority as the pendolino is more well known for Virgin.
I believe the 221s are getting refurbished first as they are getting replaced but I'm not entirely sure

I think that the Pendolinos are getting debranded at more than 1 depot, whereas 221s are only being done at Central Rivers, so it's probably more difficult to schedule them.
Seeing as 221s are being replaced, it seems a bit of a waste for them to be refurbished by West Coast. Then again, they are due a refurb, and at least a repaint, seeing as all but 221101 have not been touched since being introduced.

Alstom will also be keen to have a major refurb programme for the 390s, as it's their long-term bread and butter prior to HS2.
Bombardier with the 221s, not so much until there is some certainty about the future of the whole Voyager fleet, which is mostly down to the XC franchises's prospects.

You're absolutely right, how can Bombardier do anything with the 221s until there is more clarification?

I've not read through this thread , so this may have anyway been said, and may even have had the dreaded red text...

Sometimes when I am scrolling sticky through this forum, I have to do a double take and reread that name.

Will be interesting to see what FT do about branded VT coats and jackets on changeover. Hi-vis vests introduced at those stations for the first time to cover them over perhaps? Then again what about train managers, are their jackets branded on the back?

Think it was mentioned that VT have been issuing plain coloured bits of uniform.

The softshell jackets all have VT's logo on the back, so do the polos and coats. Jumpers and blazers don't have the logo.

They are getting new soft shell jackets for the change over. The rest of the uniform will be introduced gradually. I watched a video where it was mentioned the other day.

390155 all nicely painted seen heading Northbound late morning.

390156 arrived at Alstom Tech Widnes early hours this morning for it's 2 week sebatical.

390157 last of the fleet in original Pendolino Silver & Red was also seen heading Northbound this morning.

4 more weeks and all the Virgin titles will be gone from 390s.

I saw 221142 at Birmingham New Street yesterday. It seemed to have it's Virgin branding removed but it's nameplate was still there. I also saw 118 and 111 missing Virgin logos at the front.

It will be sad to see all the 390s out of the original livery, the original looks much better than flowing silk

Has West Coast Rail announced their operating name yet? Only a few weeks until the franchise starts!

Not long now and both liveries will be gone for good.

http://www.buytickets.avantiwestcoast.co.uk is now resolving to a Trainline server (toc.thetrainline.com), similar to the existing Virgin site.

There is merely an error on the page at the moment, but, this does seem to be further evidence of what the brand is likely to be.
All but certain now, they both use the same nameservers (provided by CSC, who are also acting as the registrar for both) which could be a coincidence but I think not, as well as this the current public westcoastpartnership.co.uk site for the franchise also uses the same NS and registrar.

Something that puzzles me too, and will it get as exciting as SWR repaints now up to 87 pages. But these are early days.......
In just one week all will be revealed.
