Not the Portsmouths of course, but everything is running between Cardiff and Weston-super-Mare only this week due to Engineering work at Cogload Jn. and they come round every 4 hours. They are all HSTs except 0800, 1200, 1600 and 2000 from Cardiff which are DMUs
Is the lack of HST on the 0800 off Cardiff a permanent or temporary thing? This is a very busy peak time train into Bristol and the last two times I've caught it it's been a 2-car 158 - totally inadequate with people standing throughout!
It is not booked to be worked by an HST but 2 x 2 158 (2 Cars). There will be a complete change in the December Timetable
The 0800 ex-Cardiff will be a 2+4 HST in the new timetable and runs right through to Penzance.

Echoed. My 1613 train to Exeter from TM recently was a XC HST substituted for a Voyager that had been caped at Bristol. Had it been the Voyager I think it's very doubtful that we would have found a seat, as the HST was very full. The comfort was much greater than we had in the Voyager (a four car 1124 from St Davids) on the way up and that had a smelly toilet (of course) that, to boot, had no loo paper, Disgraceful!Looks like straight through HST's from Bristol to Penzance at nearly 9am (formerly 09:10-09:15 when ex-Paddington) haven't disappeared - only from Didcot.
As much as I appreciate Voyagers for what they do, I'd rather spend longer on a 2+4 HST where possible!
