Back in July the Quorn Wagon & Wagon group at the GCR obtained two of the six fibreglass BD containers built by Mickleover Transport in 1959. Over the last few months despite the weather, we've restored the first one along with a container flat wagon. Half way there, but seeing one finished really makes the effort seem worthwhile. Looking forward to getting stuck into the second one. :)

Great job Dave. It’s always interesting to see something unusual like that preserved to original condition.

Well done on getting the Van train hoses done and vac cylinders checked. The Conflat looks really good.

I’m hoping that one day in the future the restored class 28 gets to play out somewhere with a few conflats and a nice Condor headboard. Quite a few out there but scattered around multiple railways.

Nice one I never realised any of the fibreglass ones were still in existence well done an interesting corner of railway history the story of efforts to "modernise" the old style containers before the 8ft yankee ones became the norm
