Are there any passenger services that don't stop at Huddersfield? Have there been historically?
Going forward should Huddersfield be considered a compulsory stop on every TP service?
Thoughts?
I am part way through a review of the Trans-Pennine service since 1960. So far I haven't seen any cases of trains that run through Huddersfield without stopping. (That sometimes used to happen at Deighton on wet days in a Pacer). Are there any passenger services that don't stop at Huddersfield? Have there been historically?

Looks like in the new timetable, there is a 2245 Scarborough to Manchester Piccadilly service on Fridays Only which skips Huddersfield.
Fixed that for you!Interesting that Huddersfield is such a key West to East Station, whilst its London services for many, many years have beenwoefulnon-existent.
I admit to being surprised given the size of the town how poor Huddersfield's north-south direct service is
I'm sure it's cropped up in previous discussions as reputedly the largest town by population on the network without any direct train service to/from London.
Wikipedia gives Bolton as roughly 140k and Huddersfield 162k - but that's the town, not the Borough (260k vs 440k - but Kirklees has a much larger urbanised area including Dewsbury); it's frankly very difficult to produce sensible comparisons (he says, as a resident of Bradford Met...) - and Kirklees has London trains anyway!Unlikely, whereas it's a big town the population is only about 150k, whereas Bolton is a lot larger and that has no London service as far as I'm aware.
