Apparently 142044 has now been fully withdrawn from so 2 down, another 77(?) to go...

Also any news on the comment about 3 units apparently will be heading down from Heaton to Worksop in a move I assume for scrapping? Or is it just more Facebook nonsense being talked about?
Schedule in RTT for Friday - 1041 off Heaton

I'm not aware of any scrapping facilities at Worksop (happy to be corrected) - doesn't seem illogical to think this could be a temporary stop-off with Booths at Rotherham being the final destination.

Yes I was a bit confused. I'm guessing you are correct.

I’m not aware of any either, Booths have been clearing out a large area next to Millmoor Football ground specifically to accept stock for scrap maybe it’s just not ready yet .

So is Worksop a scrapping location or are they just being placed there for cold storage?

I belong another railway forum, and on it, it is said, the destination for scrapping is Simms metal at Newport, with also talk of some going to Eastleigh Works for conversion into RHTTs. I’m not sure how accurate this is since I was under the impression Booth’s were to undertake the scrapping. As ever with these things, time will tell.

It wouldn't surprise me to see a handful go into departmental use, to give the 950 set a helping hand... though I'd probably think that RHTT would be the least suitable application for them.

I suppose if the track monitoring equipment says the ride is smooth on a departmental Pacer, it'll be more than good enough for every other vehicle! :D

As far as I was aware Worksop was only being used as a storage area for the new / old units and it does not have any scrapping facilities.

However, there is a service from Heaton - Worksop tomorrow

https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/P92290/2019-11-30/detailed

that 'loses and gains coaches' at Broughton Lane Jn.

This is not a million miles from Booths at Rotherham. Can it drop of units here or is the information not as is stated?

Less than 30 195s left to deliver or enter service (anyone have an upto date list?) and Northern still seem to be short of units.
Am I alone in thinking without an influx of a lot more stock pacers will be around for much longer than Northern say.

Depends on how many are accepted for service, how many are still needed for training, and what's left to do with refurbs. Maybe by the May timetable change, winter weather permitting. That's not too long to wait for the final curtain.

It’s highly unlikely anything will happen at Broughton Lane Jct as it’s single line from Woodburn Jct to Ickles - Rotherham.
I understand from friends who went to Woodburn Jct for today’s working that something similar was also reported with as many as 5 units making up the formation .

It says the same at Milford and Moorthorpe loops so I wouldn't take that too seriously. Of course it could be a monster when it sets off and only a 2-car 142 when it arrives at Worksop due to losing coaches at various random locations en-route.

Not from the photos and videos I seen which suggest the 3 pacers that went down from Heaton were kept together all the way to Worksop.

There is actually a scrap yard and metal recycling plant right next door to the HNRC Worksop depot. I think it’s an EMR (metals) facility.

I can confirm that Booths have purchased some Pacers. Delivery starting in First week Of December. The Millmoor car park will not be used for storage. The mk3 and x ecml coaches will be cut up and the pacers stored internally on the lines inside our yard. More info as i get it.
