It was shown as having a long delay - "Delayed" to be specific.

CIS showing "Delayed" simply means the service has not reported at an expected, reliable location within 3 minutes of when it should have done so.

I'd caution against concluding that "Delayed" means a long delay is inevitable.

correct of course. I should have added in this instance LNERs own web site as reporting overhead line problems at claypole. However it is true that 1. The average customer would not know where that was, 2. If that train had passed claypole or not before the damage occurred.
