Newton Heath are losing some of their 156’s (there will just be 16 officially based there) with 13 working diagrams. So some will be transferring to Heaton.
Thanks. That's a shame, I've always preferred the 156s to 150s. Ah well.

Kilmarnock dont seem to have a lot of success with sending trains south. Diddnt it take several attempts with the last one.

4 or 5. The Scotrail service 3 hours behind it has been cancelled and gone to rescue it.

My understanding is that some of Northern's 150s will be reformed into three car sets by adding a single car from a 150/2. Not sure how many or indeed if this is still planned.

The Heaton 156 reallocated units are basically filling for the the go anywhere 142s that are now being retired. I don't think the everyday user will notice much difference.

I was on a 156 out West yesterday and was pleased to note that the existing seats had been re-upholstered in moquette, rather than replaced. This is certainly a welcome development.

Most recent plans where to form just two three car 150s in this way (which would be joined by the two three car 150/0s from GWR). More recent whispers suggest even this may not now happen.

I suppose is raises again the question of whats happening with 2 car 150 209 running around without toilets. Split it to form 2 x 3 cars was always the thought.

Including not having been repainted from London Midland livery - it plus a 156 were on the 21:00 Piccadilly to Crewe on Saturday night
Yes still in LM with the big white patch over the name. Still paired with a 156 on vice EMU diagram on the Hazel Grove to Blackpools.

That doesn't look very inviting. What a dirty looking environment. The new covers aren't even properly covered. Is it moquette? I can't tell. 'Could do better. See me!' x
It smells nice and new but an awful clash of colours and filth. Shame as when they arrived they were ok.
Yes it's all moquette on that one.

the 156 stock are replacing the heaton allocation of 142's as from the december timetable change there will be no more 142's in the north east area

Yeah, I get that. However, for those in the Manchester area who have had those said 156s previously, reality will now be 150s, or worse.

150225 is back out and about
As it's been at Wabtech Doncaster its presumably just had PRM mods and repaint and is awaiting its trip to Arriva traincare at Crewe for interior refresh.
I have now just 4 150/1's and 10 150/2's to PRM with 6 in various works.

Unless the 156s work diagrams in the North West and Yorkshire like the Heaton 142s do at present
