I won't single out anyone specifically, but pretty much every (with some exceptions) modern day "rapper", with their godawful body modifications and shoddily applied rainbow substances covering all possible traces of anything natural, simply as a whitewash to sugarcoat how tragic their contributions to the music industry are, with their incomprehensible (dare I say) "music" which is often nothing more than an indecipherable grumble of sounds (usually littered with absurd and totally inappropriate references to topics such as drugs and gang crime) over a poorly-constructed, extremely monotonous tune in the background.

Ed Sheeran

We may as well lock the thread now, this is the correct answer.

I'd also add U2, who've not written anything decent since The Joshua Tree and have been patronising tax-dodging onanists ever since.

But that's enough about the Rat Pack ;)

Actually, the one musician I've always truly hated is Frank Sinatra. Inane doobop nonsense. It's just awful. All the Rat Pack stuff is.

Mostly Glasgow-ish. Mostly.
Lot of hate for some surprising bands and musicians here. I get the Ed Sheeran / U2 / Coldplay loathing..but seriously, there is so much good music of the genres many of you like, you’re just not accessing it. Let something like Spotify or Deezer help you discover it and you’re onto a winner.

For those of you warped enough to be sharing your Spotify accounts with kids or a significant other, you may want to check the Wrapped feature. You may be surprised to learn what they’re listening to with your subscription ;)

I wasn’t going to comment on this thread because each to their own, but actually yes yes yes to what you say here.

The Smiths

I was the right age to be into them when they appeared and also into indie music.

But just didn’t like anything about them and the sight of Morrissey on TOTP waving his gladioli about was the final straw!

Even now when I hear an intro to one of their songs, I immediately switch to something else.

I wouldn't say hate, but ones i dislike are...

Nickelback - Can't stand the lead singers voice, music is fairly bland and typical of 00s "faux Rock".
Jennifer Lopez - Can't sing, steals and lip-syncs to other singers vocals on her songs.
Eminem - Vile lyrics, homophobic, constantly objectifies women, does anything for relevancy.
Ed Sheeran - Bland.
Lady Gaga - Unauthentic post-2013.
Miley Cyrus - Annoying also unauthentic.
Demi Lovato - Also annoying, Needs to log off Twitter, screams through her songs.
Dua Lipa - No stage presence, bit bland
DJ Khaled - No real talent, isn't a DJ, basically just says the same catchphrase at the start of every song ("We the best music", "another one"... And so on)
Drake - Somehow remains hugely successful despite having no real talent. He's a rapper who sings but can't rap or sing and doesn't write his own music.
Nicki Minaj - Requires no comment - although i actually liked one or two songs off her last album she has an awful personality.
Cardi B - Again requires no comment.
Kanye West - Once again requires no comment, but his most recent album was tragically awful and shouldn't have been released.

I don't agree that all modern music is rubbish, yes lots of the stuff on the radio is awful but there's plenty of good/great songs. It all really comes down to personal taste really, the current "mumble rap" that seems to be popular just now is rancid however. Even when it comes to modern pop music there is some great song, albeit i suspect some members would be scared to admit it in fear of damaging their masculinity...

I'm with you there, I couldn't abide Antmusic as a kid. however, one of my guilty secrets is that I quite like Young Parisians and Goody Two Shoes.
I will now fire the starting gun for condemnation of my loathing of "The T*** In The Hat" - Jamiroquai
