TOC Names Removed From Birmingham New Street PIS

I can't see this mentioned anywhere else on here.

I noticed this evening that the names of TOCs aren't shown on the Passenger Information Screens anymore on the main concourse at Birmingham New Street. Does anyone know the reason for this?

With multiple TOCs operating to destinations such as Euston / Coventry / Wolverhampton / Shrewsbury etc, I thought this would have been fairly essential information!

I wonder if this is related to the preperation for the franchise handover, that someone decided it was easier just to remove TOC name display than to ensure it changed from Virgin to Aventi on the right day.

Given how many TOC specific tickets of various types exist from New St, this seems incredibly ill-advised.

Darwin is now reporting services with the "VT" operator code as "Avanti West Coast." I would assume that this is why the information has been removed from the boards, as they are still Virgin services until tomorrow morning.

The internal two letter code in planning systems and fed to downstream systems) (which is *not* the same as the one in printed timetables) usually is unchanged....but will need the associated full TOC name changing. Presumably done last week in readiness for launch. Hence suppressing this when it feeds through to CIS etc.
