ScotRail have confirmed Saturday 14th December will be their last day in service. Their last official diagram should be the 2312 Glasgow Central - Paisley Canal that night. Unclear if ScotRail have a farewell run planned, but there will be no 314s diagrammed in service from Sunday 15th December onwards.

Do the 314s still work the PM Glasgow - Newton via Queens Park diagram on Saturdays? If so, wouldn't the last passenger service be the 2320 Glasgow Central - Newton?

I'm just trying to sort sleeping arrangements for next Saturday and hotels are in short supply in the area.

I understand the diagram has been altered to ensure there are no 314 services the following day. Normally the unit that forms the 2320 Central - Newton runs empty to Motherwell and then back into Central on Sunday mornings to pick up the sole Sunday diagram, but next week that should be done by a 318 or 320.

Many thanks. I've opted for a hotel in Paisley.

If anyone is planning on catching 314215’s last journey tomorrow, I believe GBRf 47727 will again be hauling the unit along with the two barrier coaches. As per the last drag I’ll be at Springburn to catch the movement.

With the last of the 314s leaving by the 14th December, will the Class 314 go down as the only class this decade, in which all the units have been withdrawn?

I would think so! Should also point out that all of the GN 313s are now withdrawn and scrapped (but the ones with Southern are still around as with the NR set)

Does Class 460 count?

And I would point out that this decade runs until 31/12/2020: there was no year 0. Yes, that does mean the millennium was celebrated a year early!

I wouldn't say that they count, as they got re-used in the form of 458/5s?

What about the car scrapped after Newton - that wasn’t this decade?

Any word on this so called tour next Wednesday ?

A tweet from Richard C from Rail

It's the end for the @ScotRail Cl.314s next week. A farewell charter has been confirmed. Details attached....
https://twitter.com/Clinnick1/status/1204425631318073344

Lists it as 3 tours, one to Ayr & back, one to Motherwell, Carstairs & Cumbernauld, with a 3rd to Helesburgh and back

Donations to charity
December 18. No booking, just show up and donate a minimum of £10. It's on a 'first come, first serve' basis.

Shame it is a Wednesday with short notice, at least the GN 313 farewell had a couple months notice to allow folk from outside the main area to pick up accommodation/advance fares for reasonable prices.

That’s a nice idea they’ve decided to do this. The 303s only really got a return service to Helensburgh.

It would have been nice to see them on the low level line at GLQ and through the north Clyde line through Carntyne, Shettleston, Garrowhill etc as they operated those lines at one time.
