Urgent Information Required for upcoming television series

Hello,

I'm new to this forum. I am helping out a friend who works in the art department of a television series and she needs something very specific.

If possible she needs a photo of the kind of badge a guard on an intercity train would wear around the year of 2009.

This will then be redesigned so it looks appropriate for the time but isn't the actual train company.

I understand this is niche but what better place to ask than here!

Possibly a stupid question (and I am not in a position to help) but what sort of badge? Something like a name tag, or a company badge, or union badge? Or is the idea that the member of train crew will look more or less right from a distance? If that second case, then you might want to ask a rather different question about what sort of badges might be worn - multiple badges aren't unknown.

And depending on quite what the needs of the plot are, you might want a train manager, or customer host, or ticket inspector rather than a guard - there's quite a variety of staff who a passenger might meet on or by a train.

Sorry if this is overly pedantic: if you have found the thread about inaccuracies of the portrayal of railways in dramas, you'll see why we are grateful that you are asking!

If you mean an ID badge used to access non-public areas then you'd be hard-pressed to find someone willing to give you details on that. At my TOC at least we have very strict rules on displaying those in public, so providing details on a forum wouldn't be a clever idea!

Not a name badge, more of an emblematic company pin that might be work on a lapel. It is purely so the designer can design something that looks appropriate but come into any licensing issues. Ticket inspector.

The OP is requesting a corporate emblem design that a guard/station staff would wear on a peak cap, necktie, name badge etc.

Have you had a look at Getty Images or Alamy photo websites? Searching for Virgin Trains or other train companies shows some staff with badges. You might get some reasonable detail from the preview images there.

Also worth looking on ebay? There are some Virgin and First pin / lapel badges there.

So you're just after a generic company logo?

Would something like this suffice?
