White destination LEDs, full width rear LED displays and interior PIS systems are all part of the new standard spec.

Still unclear whether the blue/grey is the new standard interior, or just the replacement for Gold. (Manchester's examples were always intended to have the new scheme, but it's ambiguous as to whether it's standard or a subtle high-spec).

Whilst the blue/grey is certainly an improvement on the horrid blue, orange and red floor scheme, it certainly isn’t a match on some of the interiors Transdev, Reading etc have come with.

I wonder how the effect of sort of down grading the livery to standard Stagecoach livery will have on present and potential customers. Gold must have driven growth on most of the routes given the treatment, but other operators use a similar spec as standard.

The proposed new liveries are horrendous. The Stagecoach livery and interior do need updating, but why these bland new liveries. Better to have gone to Best Impressions to have updated the whole brand. ‘They all look the same’ comments awaited, which is rubbish but who else designs decent branding?

To be fair, Best Impressions did make Beach-ball so it could be a good call. A lot of liveries do look the same or very similar but they did do lots of variety previously so I don't think it would hurt to get another design from them to add into the mix. Let's be honest, they can't be as bad as the proposed ones we have all seen!

These colours will carry through on all brands, except the fact that “higher spec” vehicles will have the high back ones rather than the ADL smart seats.

Pictures now appearing of the first Panoramas to replace Van Hools on the London-Glasgow-Aberdeen Megabus M11 service.

https://cbwmagazine.com/megabus-com-panoramas-in-build-and-named/

Interior looks a bit more refined than the current coaches

Riding the M11 Megabus this evening on a new Panorama - apart from the leg room being a bit tight, they are really well appointed and the seats possibly more comfortable than any other coach I have been on before with really deep pile moquette and 'leather' edging.

Stagecoach West have started applying ticket advertising to the outside of their buses which uses colours not too dissimilar to the new interior colour scheme as seen on the batch of vehicles recently delivered to Oxford.

First spotting of the new Enviro 400 City EV vehicles. Note it comes in the green livery, however is not expected to be for a Uni/Park and Ride/Busway service. Expected to have air cooling, staircase is not glass and comes in old interior colours which is somewhat disappointing.

Is that emergency exit required to be black (or a contrasting colour to the main livery), like on train doors? That'll make modern liveries look even worse - it's already hard to put much of a livery on a modern bus, given all of the big chunky black/glass (plus high profile lights and destination screen and the much bigger space taken up by advert boards nowadays) - how do you find a livery that isn't ruined by all of these intrusions?

In comparison, a 1980s bus was a blank canvas, capable of taking much more subtle/complicated liveries (but vehicles were often just plain red!)

It's entirely possible that the vehicle isn't finished yet and it just needs to be painted.

Or plain leaf green!!

There are some liveries that suited vehicles and not others. The Northumbria livery looked great on a Delta or Olympian; less so on a VR! And that's before we got onto NBC Venetian blind schemes ;)

Is it just me or is this whole rebrand situation becoming a bit daft now?

Deliveries with old interiors/new interiors, current livery then some in one of the new plain colours.

Just wish they’d make up their minds and crack on with it.

Sure, but I've never noticed vehicles with "contrasting" emergency exit doors before - hence the question about whether this is a requirement on new buses?

True - some liveries only really work well on a single decker or only on a double decker - e.g. the "cow horn" Arriva scheme had okay proportions on a single decker but looked odd on a double decker (IMHO) - I don't think anything as complicated as the Northumbrian livery would stand a chance of working nowadays with all of the big black sections taken up by glazing/ lights/ screens etc - about the only thing that would work would be a cascading curve coming down from the rear of the vehicle and then some kind of wavy pattern between the wheels... and then people will start a thread to complain that all modern liveries are the same and that Best Impressions are ripping everyone off!

I'm not sure I'd go as far as "daft" - there's no requirements for everything to be delivered in one colour scheme, there's no requirement to update the interior at the same time as introducing a new exterior livery - it's a huge decision to take so I can understand why they are bringing it out in dribs and drabs.

Remember, most people are only seeing the vehicles in their area - the fact that something has been delivered to an OpCo a couple of hundred miles away won't register.

No, it's not a requirement.

Coach and Bus week says that the pictured E400 is one of the BYD electric buses for Sharston, and was pictured on a road test.

Also this is the base for the new livery.

https://cbwmagazine.com/new-stagecoach-adl-byd-enviro400ev-spotted/

Is the green only the base for electric vehicles, or will the same livery be applied to the entire fleet?
Stagecoach Manchester have used a green and white version of the Beachball branding for their hybrids ever since they were introduced, as far as I'm aware.

On the drawings released a while back the green was shown as a "Park & Ride" livery. It should be noted the new Enviro400XLBs (fully diesel) which are being delivered for the Cambridge Busway are in the green base livery too.

The mint green base is for special schemes; ie. Park & Rides, Busway, Electric, Uni etc (be interesting to see if current ‘Gold’ routes become this colour)

I think the standard overall livery will be a red base? Although personally I’d quite like orange... stands out more and doesn’t seem so London orientated.

That worked out well the last time Brian let go of the strings!

However, to save having to plough through a lengthy document, this is what it says about rebranding:
We are ready to roll out a new over-arching brand proposition for Stagecoach. This is about far more than a new identity for our vehicles. It incorporates a new brand vision and values, the roll out of commercial initiatives, and an extensive marketing campaign. Stagecoach research has shown that by increasing brand awareness and relevance and implementing a coordinated marketing and customer strategy, we can improve the end-to-end customer experience and increase our passenger revenue through modal shift. Our marketing activity has tended to be locally driven and focused. While we intend to continue with our local marketing activity, we see significant potential from complementing that with centrally co-ordinated branding and marketing activity, optimising our position as the UK’s largest bus and coach operator. We have been encouraged by the returns on investment that we have achieved from initial central marketing activity during 2019 and are looking to build on that. Our plans include a mix of short-term tactical marketing activity to drive near term sales, as well as generating long-term revenue and profit growth through brand building. We are increasing our UK Bus brand and marketing spend from c.£8m per annum to c.£13m per annum to target passenger revenue growth.
