Can someone confirm if the last passenger service (Not the Tour ) is the final train to Paisley Canal on Saturday.
Definitely want to do this if I can arrange and can be sure it is correct.

It's a disaster! Been no movement really on anything for almost a year now. Structural survey was pretty grim and to make the building safe is estimated at £10million (note to refurbish it and bring back into use would be alot more ontop of the £10mil to make safe).

Staff are currently enduring another winter of having to work out of cramped portacabins and platform staff are out in all weathers with little to no shelter, as are passengers waiting on trains. Transport Scotland, Network Rail and ScotRail are basically sitting on their hands along with the council and failing passengers and staff! If it had been in Glasgow or Edinburgh it would have been sorted long ago!

Sounds like they’re needing to get off their arse and start this process. Ayr is a busy station and the GLC-AYR is a busy service. They could probably build a really modern station out of Ayr if they could demolish the old hotel building and try something completely new to freshen it up for sure.

This is a bit of a random question but does anyone know if it is possible, or would be possible, to get a hold of a destination blind from a Class 314 before they are all scrapped? Thanks!

Last service should be the 2312 Glasgow Central - Paisley Canal tomorrow

Generally the scrap merchants are prohibited from selling parts of the trains they scrap, so I'd say it's unlikely but if you don't ask, you don't get.

Who would I go about asking? Would I be better asking the rolling stock owner (Angel?) or ScotRail or someone else? Thanks!

Scotrail own the 314s outright now so I wouldn’t bother with Angel

Seems in fairly decent nick, one for the tour next week maybe?
I was actually thinking that myself when I was on it this morning. In fairness to ScotRail they’ve kept them really presentable. I had been hoping for my favourite 205 as my last ride but looks like it will turn out to be 216 unless there’s problems on Monday.

205 was one of the worst, certainly externally, but overall the fleet has been kept quite tidy.

I have to say 314205 is a good runner. It's probably between that and 314210 as the best ones left in my opinion. However, 205's exterior is more than a little ugly just now.

I know a while back it was stated that some units had one or more traction motors isolated, perhaps '205 is still on all motors?

At least one of the remaining units will probably have been withdrawn since only 3 will be required tomorrow and 1/2 for the farewell on Wednesday.

205 seemed to be running with a bit of a wheelflat this morning and sounded a little clunky.

216 sounded much healthier.

Yep, ScotRail have said it will be a double on Wednesday which will probably be needed. I think 314210 and 314216 would make a decent pairing for the last journeys.

Feels bizarre that this is pretty much it. This time next week the 314s will be gone after just over 40 years of service.

So this is it. Today’s the last day of the 314s in passenger service! I’m currently en-route to Central Station to catch them so any info is much appreciated

Scotrail tweeting saying that the last service will be the 1705 Paisley Canal to Central.
