They've put it on platform 0 so it won't depart from under the main roof, which seems a bit mean.

1735 from harrogate made an extra call at retford.

The northbound harrogate hst was held at Newark to allow for a spotter connection! Incredible.

It is, you know, an operational railway.........
And if you haven't got your photo of an HST in the main train shed at Kings Cross then what have you been doing for the last 40+ years?

Some humans doing something nice for their fellow beings - and on an operational railway?! This can't go on.

The entire thing was to enable a spotter jolly. Not on in my book as two trains worth of people were delayed even more than they already were to allow a couple of people to have fun.

But each to thier own.

I see the 1903 was delayed as well. Probably because the set wasn’t ready hence why they swapped in the first place.

I guess I am the strange one. After 37 years of the (personally) I don’t feel any need to ride on the last one on ECML. Especially when a trip to St Pancras will find the same trains.

saying that still odd seeing kings cross with the oldest train a 365 in the peak.

I am booked on the last southbound entirely by chance. I will certainly miss these trains. They have been a massive part of my life

My last ride was on the same route as my first. (Well apart from it terminated at Lincoln rather then continued to Cleethorpes)

First memory as tables only. Then the IC refurbishment with some airline seats. Now as they are.

Just been told we might be delayed getting into Leeds due to a line side fire between Doncaster and Wakefield.

Am I the only one who’s glad they’re gone? I decided to take the 1935 (final one out of Kings Cross) to celebrate :)

Got a video of the last northbound LNER HST out of Darlington (1S09(?) Doncaster - Edinburgh). Plenty of enthusiasts on board!

Well I'm a bit sad, but I never found the ECML sets particularly exciting compared to the Midland and Western counterparts.
I've lost interest in rail tbh, I'm strongly considering buying a car atm

Looks like they ran passenger back to Leeds from Harrogate off 1D26 1803 from KGX. Massively delayed though getting into Leeds.

There weren't quite as many people to wave them off at kings cross as I'd expected. That's in contrast to the last departures from Paddington - but GWR made an occasion of it whereas there was no 'official' acknowledgement of anything happening this evening at KX. Still it was nice to see a good few folk there, and a friendly atmosphere amongst tjose who'd shown up, despite some slightly over-officious platform staff at a couple of moments.
