Now showing as cancelled on RTT with code TG (no driver).

I'd imagine the return 1848 working will be to unless they find a spare driver and another suitably qualified driver to lead the operation and run it up to and back from Bournemouth to London this afternoon.

Looks like a better chance it will run tomorrow.

1B95 has departed Waterloo 15 late. Not sure if it is actually 442s, highly doubt it...

Imagine it's more likely they're using the path for an extra service with a spare 444 and guard...

5Q88 and 5Q95 ran today, and from the looks of RTT they appear to have passed through Earlsfield and Millbrook without delay, which looks promising perhaps?

5Q30 and 5Q31 between Fratton and Bournemouth also appear to have run today on RTT without delay at Millbrook, and I guess these were 442s also?

Eveing all, I can confirm that it was a ten car 442 had definitely run this evening as I see it passing through Woking. Unfortunately I didn't manage to see what the units were, as I was helping a customer at the time.

Hello,

I’ve not been following this thread so apologies if this is a silly question but are there any current weekday class 442 diagrams in passenger service?

Regards,

Pudsey Bear

Hi. No, not at present but there are crew training runs this week again from Fratton to Bournemouth and return.

Nope, regardless of any ongoing 442 issues, the strike means that the 444s are more than sufficient stock wise (and contingency guards aren't trained on the 442s). There have been fairly '5Q' regular test runs though, so pure speculation but they might return to passenger service shortly after the end of the strike.

Does anyone know if the latest test runs up to London were successful at all?

Suspect might just mean someone hasn't overriden the timetable yet, but I notice that advance tickets are available on a 442 service (1848 from Waterloo) from 6th January onwards.

Have any trains had the new equipment fitted or are they going to be running in their original state for the foreseeable future?

As far as I know only one unit has had ac traction package fitted, and that will require a lot of testing before being accepted into service I should imagine.
As for the other units, there are apparently some that have had modifications to their static converters, though we're yet to hear if that has been successful in fixing the signal tripping issue.

Believe there is 1, possibly 2 units that are now AC traction as well as self proving brakes.

5Q88 ran up to London this morning and is currently in Clapham yard.

2419 has the new motors and is at Bournemouth.
2402 is having the new motors installed and is at Eastleigh.

2403, 2408, 2410, 2413, 2417 & 2420 have been out over the last few weeks on tests with modified static converters. No sign of 2406 or 2414 which also entered passenger service.

For the record, 2415 and 2422 are also at Eastleigh.

How many units do swr have now? I know initially they took 18, can't remember what happend to the other 6 that the open access operator had planned to use before their bid failed.

Remains at 18.

01, 05, 07, 12, 21 and 24 are the remaining 6 units. 2405 is being stripped for spares, with 2424 next on the list for that.
