I'm trying to find where Stoke junction is after it being referred to in a book and have come to a loss.
My best bet is that it's here- 52.639742, -0.342984

I was wondering if anyone here could help me out.

Stoke Junction is about half a mile to the South of Stoke-on-Trent station where the Derby line towards Uttoxeter diverges from the main line to Stone.

Between Peterborough and Grantham where 4 tracks become 2 on the approach to Stoke Tunnel.

There are numerous junctions named as such so you'll have to give a bit more of a clue as to the context.

So which other "Stoke Junction"(s) are there on the network other than the one just South of Stoke-on-Trent station and the one on the East Coast mainline between Peterborough and Grantham?

There are two junctions named “Stoke Junction”, one on the ECML (Tiploc SOKEJN) and another near Stoke on Trent (STOKOTJ).

There’s also Stoke Works Junction near to Bromsgrove (STKWKSJ). I didn’t find any others - not even variations of places like Basingstoke - but happy to be corrected.

In which case it's the Peterborough side of Stoke Tunnel near Grantham where 4 tracks become 2.
ISTR it used to be slightly further north before electrification; the redundant trackbed and present junction can be clearly seen on satellite view maps.

I might have remembered this wrong but i'm sure they relocated it to improve the speed through the turnouts so that trains on the slow could merge with the main at speed and visa versa

Correct - improving the capacity of the two track section by extending it so trains onto the Slows can join/leave it faster and occupy it for less time.

Also done at Woolmer Green Jn (Welwyn) and Balcombe Tunnel Jn
