I'm just waiting for all the grinches and moaners who complained about the Northern Christmas signs to say this is a disgrace and an abuse of RTT someone wasting time and effort to do something fun...…...Shouldn't be allowed!!!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

You really don't see the difference between public-facing signs at numerous stations where the service has been dire for months, and a one-off joke on RTT which will confuse no-one?

I am predicting the following issues on route along the journey:
  • On leaving North Pole all the presents are rammed onto 5 sleighs because the second 5 sleighs didn't turn up - but be grateful you got half a service rather than none.
  • Delays then occur on the South Western section following strike action due to a disagreement whether the Elves or the Reindeer operate the doors.
  • Heading West the sleigh has to slow right down as someone built the railway in the sea and now the salt water gets into the antlers and causes problems.
  • Heading North, all presents for Liverpool and Scarborough are thrown out and abandoned at Manchester and York because the Reindeer are not trained yet on the new Novasleighs.
  • Also in the North the local drop offs don't happen as the new sleighs that were due to replace the 4 wheeled shopping trolleys are not all here yet.
  • We then get to Scotland where the new refurbished 40 year old sleigh with powered door is still in Doncaster because nobody thought that a 40 year old piece of wood that spent its life outside in the wet might be rotten.
  • Coming back down the East the special Reindeer Spaghetti unexpectedly fell out of the sky again.
  • Then in East Anglia there were no sleighs as the old ones were sent to Wales whilst the new ones were still in a siding on a Heritage railway waiting to come into use.
  • Finally the trip CROSS London wasn't available for use yet as the Red Nose control system wasn't compatible with the new technology.
After completing the journey Santa explained that he is not working next year as the seat on his sleigh is rock hard, bolt upright and he now has back ache.

That deserves Comment of the Year . Don't forget that it gets stuck in Castlefield as a 331 broke down earlier and no one bothered to move it!

Last year for heritage traction on this service.

From next year they will have to use reindeer with retention tanks.

PTSO or platform depending on the weather
Will there be water stops?

Will there be a bar?

Will it be DOO or is there a guard/OBS?

If there's even a single flake of snow, will the service get cancelled (as it is easier to run no service)

What happens if there is a widespread power failure and all signals go out?

What if the reindeer don't sign the route?

Rudolph is the only one who needs to sign the route, and I am not clear that Santa needs to be a safety-critical member of staff as this is a parcels and freight service (BTW shouldn't the headcode be 3X01?).

I look forward to this Xmas special appearing on RTT. I'm sure the route scheduling was more random last year though.

Unfortunately it exceeds 150 TIPLOCs so it won't be uploaded into TRUST, which means ARS can't be used - it will be signalled manually throughout. (I wonder what the bell code is for a high speed parcels train formed of one vehicle pulled by 9 locomotives.)

Presumably Rudolph's nose is removed and placed on the rear of the sleigh when on NR metals to comply with the rulebook?
