I’m currently travelling everyday from Weymouth to Basingstoke for training. Roughly 2 hours 15 minutes each way...

On their job advert it mentioned the pay was 24k ish during training then increases to 33k during handling hours. Is that referring to the drivers hours? And then route learning is after they pass out? So from start to end how long does it roughly take to get the full wack of pay?
24k until rules, then it goes up to about 28k then when you have key 33k once productive full whack. this is plus London weighting depending on depot

Ah okay, thanks. How long did it take you to pass out? Or you still training?

Submitted my application form and managed to complete the multiple choice questionnaire. I’ve had the following response back:

“We're pleased to let you know that you have successfully passed your recent online assessment(s).

Whilst we endeavour to progress everyone who passes their online assessment to the next stage of the process, this is not always possible when we are dealing with high volumes of applications. On occasions like this and in the interests of fairness, we will only be able to progress those that fall within the top scoring bracket.”

Hmmmmm........

I got the same email and haven't heard anything yet. I read it as they would let me know later whether I'd scored high enough.

deepblue82 - to be honest that’s how I read it also. It’s interesting how people interpret things. Thought it was best to post on here to get other opinions or see if anyone else had received the same reply.

Good luck to you!

If it helps, I phoned SWR HR recruitment and they told me that there wasn't a second online assessment and that they would look at and review all of the applications after the 15th. You'll then be invited to the assessment stage and if you'd already completed that then you'd inform them of that, at that point and they'd pull up the info on the national database. At which point it should hopefully be straight to DMI......

No. I don’t expect to hear anything until January.
The Yeovil depot opened last Sunday. The depot needs/wants 18 drivers & 12 guards at the moment (this number may increase in time). But with all the current strikes nothing is being delt with this month. Expect January assessment for drivers & interviews for commercial guard roles.

Well done! I reckon late Feb/March. Nervous about the Interview, I failed a DMI with GWR last year.
I’m in the same position as you hopefully this year I’ll be successful. I would have to relocate if I was successful.

Congrats to the above on receiving an email invitation for DMI!

What stages have you progressed through so far? I assume you’ve done assessment day?

Fantastic news for you.
What sort of time frame has that taken?
