Hi everyone, I passed DMI on 1st August and have just received start date for 10th February. Stay positive - they are still starting training courses so I am sure you will all hear soon! I would imagine which depot you are in for plays apart on wait as well.

The governments decision to strip Abellio of the ScotRail franchise I suspect will have a knock on effect for those sitting in pools. I dont see Abellio spending any more money on training or indeed anything else because they are losing the contract in the future. Cannot see any further recruitment over the next 2 years until another company is awarded the contract or into public ownership.

Means absolutely nothing !

Recruitment is going ahead as planned and will be looking for 100 plus. Should go online in next couple of weeks.

If anyone on here has any tips or pointers for the 2nd assessment day I would be extremely grateful. I will be trawling through this thread again obviously but any additional help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi great news!!! sorry can't help with your query but just being nosy... did your email basically ask if you're still interested, or have you been given a date for 2nd assessment? Also, I take it you're also going for around the Edinburgh area (not Inverness anyhow??)

Hi. Email just asked if still interested and whether any of my circumstances have changed (employer, convictions etc). Just advised that they intended on progressing application to the next stage. My area would be Yoker, Glasgow or Helensburgh.

Hey that's really good, I was trying to figure out if they were just going to extend reserve pool time (ive been in since end of August), but obviously for you guys they are talking about next stage, thats still really positive. Good luck with your next stage!!!

Any advice on what to expect or advice would be great. I appreciate that the details are in the email but I always feel it's good to get some personal experience aswell.

I applied last May when they advertised for 100 trainee drivers and didn't hear a thing from them until last week when I got a phonecall asking if I'm still interested.
Got an assessment day in 2 weeks covering Group Bourdon, TRP 1 + 2 and Tea-occ.

I assume they must have kept my profile on standby?
