A mini bash on a run from Springburn to the next stop along the line on the 15:03 ex Glasgow Queen Street - Edinburgh on required 385005. Being as I had the dog with me and as the trains are timetabled to pass within a couple of minutes of each other in opposite directions, I had a gentle wander around. Some of the works surrounding the station are incomplete, and although there is road access from the M80 side (Cumbernauld bound), there is no road access from the A80 Cumbernauld Road side (Glasgow bound) at this moment in time but it seems there will be in the near future as can be evident from the Heras fencing across Station Road. The platforms are on stilts (similar to British Rail reopening in the second half of the 1980s) and is unstaffed. There is a large car park on the M80 side with a smaller car park on the Cumbernauld Road side, however both sides appear to have a bus turning circle adjacent to the car parks. There are a few car parking spaces to recharge electric vehicles.
I returned back to Springburn on the 15:40 ex Edinburgh Waverley - Glasgow QS onboard dud 385114.
