A really good and imaginative, light hearted thread from our contributors. As an regular, "outsider" /follower, this made me chuckle amongst all the "doom and gloom" we unfortunately read on a daily basis. Thank you all.

Brilliant, they appear to have relaid the Didcot, Newbury and Southampton line this eve to get to Winchester, I must pop out :)

Mixing up a few of the recent threads here but...
How long before Santa is stopped for travelling forward showing only a red light?
Is this why the 125 cars have been hurriedly added to the consist to keep the workers out there tonight safe? Good thinking there by operations!
I hope he gives you a wave when he is passing, and maybe some of the mince pies - he won't need them all, but you will have to wait until the end of the shift for the sherry!

I would advise the crew to be vigilant at some stations in suburban areas of London & other big cities -- otherwise some light-fingered locals may help themselves to parts of the load.

Get to Pilning if you want to see him, he's getting into platform 2 rather than the sky platform at other stations

Does Rudolf still need to wear a yellow vest, or are his eyes bright enough not to require yellow being shown at the front?

And does each reindeer have a tail lamp, because some of them may be out of gauge?

Surely only the sleigh carries a tail lamp (and side lamps, as contrary to my earlier suggestion it must be an unfitted "road van" brake)? :)

I notice the service achieved some remarkable sectional running times.

Nice to see the minutes late/early numbers in this year. Makes it look more realistic. Next year I wonder if there'll be any part route cancellations due to train crew unavailability.
