If you did it just to Exeter then you could return on 1E63, which is out of Exeter at 1625ish. Would give you about 40 mins in Exeter mind.
Ah but then I'd miss the dawlish sea wall. Thanks for the idea though!

Yes, EMR sets all slam door, and then services move to ex LNER slam door sets in 2020 for about a year (or until the replacement Hitachi sets arrive)

So this week you will get EMR HSTs with slam doors and near original interior seating. Enjoy it whilst you can. If in 1st class I can recommend the menu too.

see this for HST services shown in timetable column headings

https://www.eastmidlandsrailway.co....T_m-bD7VBlSliOIh_26jM/timetable_1_for_web.pdf

Some EMR diagrams are ex Grand Central HST sets too.
Thanks very much - will try to get a quick trip in then

There is only the 1 error for the Saturday.
Two of the three pairs of trains listed don't exist in the the way they are shown in the December timetable, so I'd say there are at least two errors.

My suspicion for Saturday is that there is one too many diagrams shown, another that shows the wrong trains, whilst the other is probably right - but I don't have the gen, hence why I thought it worth raising. @Mag_seven has indicated he's received the latest gen, so the list will be corrected as soon as he gets chance :) (or even whilst I was typing this ;) )

Additionally, Plymouth times have changed slightly in the new timetable on all days, but that is only small detail.

XC05 out on 1V64 1308 Edinburgh Plymouth today.
Is it still XC05? Tells me to travel in rear 4 coaches for stations after Gloucester so maybe it's two 220s now?

Edit: it is indeed XC05, no longer calling at Gloucester. Must've been a mistake at new street.

Cross country journey check states it is an HST but not stopping at Gloucester today:

https://www.journeycheck.com/crosscountry/

13:08 Edinburgh to Plymouth due 21:51 was diverted between York and Sheffield.
It will no longer call at Leeds, Wakefield Westgate and Gloucester.
It has been previously delayed, has been further delayed at Sheffield and is now 45 minutes late.
This is due to a fault on this train which is now fixed.
First class located at front. Disabled toilet facilities are reduced.
Further Information
Passengers for Gloucester to alight at Cheltenham Spa for the CrossCountry 20:15 Cheltenham Spa - Chepstow service.
Passengers at Gloucester will be accepted on Great Western Railway 19:42 Gloucester - Bristol Temple Meads service, please change at Bristol Temple Meads for onward CrossCountry services.
HST FORMATION:
(Front) A B C D E F G (Rear)
A-B: First Class
C-G: Standard Class (cycle storage in coach G)

Unfortunately the screens at stations are only as good as the information that is put into it. Sometimes these things can get picked up but other times they might not.

Xc05 on 1V54 today. Then that's it for the CrossCountry slam door set. Onto Laira tonight then the next time it leaves will be ECS to Doncaster.

Depends what time of day it was. XC02 was there all day (likely to have been in the shed), XC01 with 43301+43384 was there until late afternoon (before working 1E73, and XC04 43366+43357 would have been there from early evening onwards (set off 1V54).

Good point. Around 4pm as the sun was setting (not that we'd seen much sun in Plymouth that day!)

Hello there. I've just passed a XC HST coming towards Bristol Temple Meads from the Taunton direction (I'm on a delayed IET from Reading as I was sent via here from Didcot). I take it that's XC05 running ECS to Doncaster?

Any info on today's diagrams? I believe they're being terminated at Exeter.
