GA will run all planned services today
GA will run all planned services today
There was a very long line up of Gbrf 66s at Peterborough when I passed through on Saturday. That would equate to a lot of trains!GA maybe thin on the ground, but GBRf, hired to NR is keeping us busy today
I hope whoever wrote that doesn't come under fire for not towing the party line... Good on them for being honest.
[If anything is ever certain] see post 3227^^^170271 on Ipswich to Cambridge services in between a pair of 754/4s today and easily keeping time. How long before it is due for pastures new?
A derogation was granted, so I don’t think GA would have withdrawn any if not for reliability. whether the terms of the derogation were given to GA or if they asked for the terms I don’t know. The window seems small.Have any MK3 rakes been withdrawn or are just a lot faulty?
Unrelated, does anyone know if GA will run named services again with a headboard and a PIS announcing it? The 17:00 off LST used to be called the East Anglian, With the Ni90s and the 745s in operation soon.
06:24 Norwich to London Liverpoo Street

https://www.eadt.co.uk/news/greater-anglia-s-trains-get-exemption-1-6445940 was the East Anglian article on this yesterday. I like this quote:-
Rail minister Chris Heaton-Harris "reluctantly agreed" to operators' requests to continue using non-compliant trains into 2020 as removing them from service would have a "disproportionately negative effect".
Do the 321's all have disabled toilets ? - I cannot see how they will be replaced by the March deadline

On a lighter note, does anyone know if any of the new trains will get name plates?

They won't be changing tack anytime soon or answering any difficult questions directly.
Sybil, Manuel, Polly, the MajorDon't know about 745's, but maybe the 755's "Heath Robinson"
I will wait for Mr Ford's TIN watch next month before I judge. Until then it's just a bit of fun.A quick point on the 755s being labelled 'Basils', as of mid-October their reliability was on a par with 195s, superior to that of 331s, TfL's 360/2s and well above that of the 37-hauled temporary sets used before their introduction, and of course well above 230s for as much as that counts for anything. Their performance is still poor but for units in service for, at that time, less than 3 months, the 755s' score is well 'within tolerance', despite recent issues.
The article says 3 out of Norwich (which were Brundall Gardens/Haddiscoe/Spooner Row), and 2 out of Ipswich (Elmswell/Kennett).I see it said with the ASDO it was 2 small stations, I thought it was 4 or 5 ? Gardens/Haddiscoe/Elmswell/ Dullingham and I think Kennett in one direction ?

Does not say much for 195s or 331s ! with an average of 4, 5 or more 755 failures a day !A quick point on the 755s being labelled 'Basils', as of mid-October their reliability was on a par with 195s, superior to that of 331s, TfL's 360/2s and well above that of the 37-hauled temporary sets used before their introduction, and of course well above 230s for as much as that counts for anything. Next month? Those figures are taken from the annual TIN watch which was published a week or two ago. Are you expecting a decrease due to the 'signalling issue'?I will wait for Mr Ford's TIN watch next month before I judge. Until then it's just a bit of fun.
