looking to become a driver - have passed basic assessment needed. i'm hearing that many places offer free day working? is this just overtime?

Thanks! currently working in retail and overtime means time and half, i'm presuming this is by agreement with company?

Rates of pay will be dependent on which TOC or FOC you are working for. My TOC, for example, does not pay an overtime rate. Check the local terms and conditions when you get the job.

The railway is built on staff doing overtime. Some tocs give enhancement for overtime or some tocs it's negotiable I.e company pay for 12 hours for a 4 hour job

Scotrail have a fixed payment for Rest day working £375 whatever you do !
