What a weird political message to put on a website like that.

Pretty annoying that reasonable statements about efficacy of policy these days get drowned out by ridiculous statements. They are so far removed from reality they make the reasonable statements either inaudible or easy pickings.

I don't really see how denying people a useful data source on a totally unrelated topic is supposed to help with the cause of getting a better government.

Isn’t Railsigns a member on here? Perhaps he can explain.

Wow, reading that message automatically lead me to believe that the person who wrote it is clearly unhinged. I'm no Tory fan (nor a fan of any politician for that matter) but I'd never go to such lengths to make an outlandish statement like that

It seems that there has been a message about privatisation on the website since at least 2015, as you can see on this page.

If the outcome of the election had been different, and the railways were about to be renationalised, we'd be hearing similarly optimistic assertions about the benefits to those quoted in the message to which you've provided that link (and thanks for doing so, as it also accesses the main content of the site).

Unfortunately, the ideological supporters of almost any major change grossly exaggerate its advantages, as we may begin finding out about another example from the end of this month.

Ultimately it's their website to do with whatever they wish, even if it has removed a very valuable resource and is rather odd.

The link was made using the Wayback Machine. It's very useful for finding information on websites that have been deleted.

I wonder if it's just a temporary protest (other websites have done this in the past) and the content will be restored at some point?

Disappointing that a useful site has been taken down for such an unrelated event.

Has anyone thought that the possibility exists that the site was hacked by Pro Corbynites aka Momentum? Course it could be the site owner but equally that looks like something a hacker would do!

That’s the internet for you. People who used to sit in the corner of a pub muttering into their pint can now mutter to their keyboard and reach thousands.

Apparently Iran have been busy with cyber attacks recently. This looks like the ideal place for them to start....

Best laugh I've had this year so far. With any luck some railway enthusiasts will hack back into it soom and show us photos of a few shunt dummies.

Possible, but as long as I can remember the site has had anti-privitisation messages on it

There are a number of rail related websites that I am aware of that have been removed for political reasons. All small and usually aimed at a very narrow audience but removed none the less.

PS. No im not going to list them.

the Wayback machine has several snapshots of that site, most recent from June last year. May not be complete, but a lot of it is there
https://web.archive.org/web/20190705111449/http://railsigns.uk/

It was a good idea but...........the images weren't archived so they're getting pulled off the main site and so are hacked.

Looks like some nutter has hijacked the site, I don't believe its the website owners doing

No it's the site owners doing, it changed in various guises up to and after the last general election.

Lots of socialists are pretty devastated. If you listened to some of my friends on election night, you'd think the election had been won by the Antichrist. That being said, this fervor tends to calm down over time, and there's a good chance that after a period the site will be restored to its former glory.
