Will be interesting to see how quickly they are all in service once one is...
It depends how many units are available in order to get enough drivers trained. How many Liverpool Street and Bishops Stortford drivers needing training for Stansted services?one would imagine fairly rapidly depending how many units have actually been accepted by GA and passed fit for service. Would also expect to see the Stansted 745's appear shortly once most of the IC units are out.
All of West Anglia depots sign the same routes/traction aside from a few minor differences. Cambridge will be ahead of the rest due to the Norwich to Stansted using 755. Bishops Stortford is I think the largest driver depot on GA so that'll take some time for everyone to get trained. It depends how many units are available in order to get enough drivers trained. They can be trained on the hourly 755s from Cambridge as then ready for the 745/1s when they arrive as no conversion needed. It depends how many units are available in order to get enough drivers trained. How many Liverpool Street and Bishops Stortford drivers needing training for Stansted services?
I think they're using one of the units from Coldham Lane to train, I see one quite frequently throughout the day going back and forth from Cambridge to StortfordThey can be trained on the hourly 755s from Cambridge as then ready for the 745/1s when they arrive as no conversion needed.
I'm not sure if that's just an extra one there. One of the Cambridge drivers said those next to the main line haven't turned a wheel since arriving & need to be dragged by ROG eventually to Crown Point for commissioning.I think they're using one of the units from Coldham Lane to train, I see one quite frequently throughout the day going back and forth from Cambridge to Stortford
The 7.40am service from Norwich to Liverpool Street today (Wednesday, January 8) was the first time commuters have got to travel on a new class 745.
Following a number of test trips, the 12-carriage number 745007 train set off on time from Norwich Railway Station - one of a fleet of 10 new Inter City trains from Swiss manufacturer Stadler.
Greater Anglia said the new trains had 752 seats compared to 614 on the train which had been used up to now.
The rail operator hopes to introduce the new trains at a rate of about one a week, ensuring they are all in service by the time the new deadline for compliance with the government's Disability Discrimination Act is reached on March 31.
Skoda make their own intercity electric train.Iron Man and friends have started replacing Tin Rocket and the Skodas!
You're going to have a hard job fitting two laptops against each other on those first class tables.Just seen more pictures on this thread on Twitter: https://twitter.com/BusAndTrainUser/status/1214848858884313088
Does every gangway between the different coaches have internal doors?
Ah thank you , was just wondering how the guard would lock a coach OOU etc.The internal doors are not at the vestibule end but either side of the body side doors which makes it confusing as to what coach you are actually in.
Does the central section with the long narrow corridor where all the electrical stuff is, have CCTV cameras covering this area? Haven't seen any in the photos so far.
If not then why not? Surely this is the exact place where they are needed.
Yes, there are two in this area in the wider central part.
Various other services?
Yes. All seat reservations are suspended however whilst the fleet changeover takes place.
Take it these are the seat reservations?
