Hopefully back up and running very soon once the hiccups are sorted. The much hoped for hourly service however maybe several years away.
Indeed, the first goal is for your company to run the 2 hourly service

Meanwhile of course Cross Country and East Midlands Railway just plough through Manea & Whittlesea as per usual. Once upon a time on a joined up railway far far away special stop orders may have been issued to cover for the cancelled trains.
Its made a decent restart.Indeed, the first goal is for your company to run the 2 hourly service

Pleased to hear it - from 2 sources: Son has just emailedIts made a decent restart.
I am on a train from whittlesey to ipswich. It may be an old 156 and running late but still good! Level crossing problems at stonea? Long q of traffic.
Good to hear mate. As long as a train of some description turns up, who cares?Pleased to hear it - from 2 sources: Son has just emailed
I am wondering if the Modern Railways piece was either mistold in the first place and/or misreported?Interesting, I do not recall anyone reporting such an incident in the box, and there has been no mention of it on any shift ! A thing like that would be the talk of the box, for some considerable time
Could perhaps mean that a train did not show on the Vaughan Harmon MCS VDU work station controlling the Whitlingham Junction to Sheringham line? Which is of course located in the Trowse Swing Bridge Box..... without being detected by track circuits from Trowse swing bridge.

Cannot believe all wheelsets, however badly contaminated, would fail to complete the track circuit on the tight curve from Trowse Swing Bridge to Carrow Road Bridge.
The actual wording in MR is:

Looks as though they have all run today as well! At last a bit of good news to set against the bad news in the comment below https://www.railnews.co.uk/news/2020/01/09-franchising-crisis-deepens-as-west.html although you can't see when it dates fromGood to hear mate. Yet another Abellio Franchise in the mire, straight after eviction from Scotrail. But why are they not being hounded for the outright shambles on Greater Anglia? Yesterday they were flag-waving as one new main line train between Norwich and London. They forget to mention that 2 others were cancelled and the rural debacle continued on the Ipswich-Felixstowe and Ipswich-Peterborough lines (and probably elsewhere if truth be known). Yet to this date I have not seen or heard any real remorse or regret, apart from the bog standard rubbish. Ands they STILL try and pass the buck by blaming "signal issues" as if it's down to Network Rail when the whole world knows it's the new trains inter-action that is the issue
All went superbly with 745007 yesterday. Looks like 006 will be coming in next week. Good to see the Peterborough up & running again. It's not been a happy time but everyone is doing their best to get things back to normal.Looks as though they have all run today as well! As to the Peterboroughs, how is the Manea westbound stopping position beng managed with the Stadlers?
.
Looks like around 16 mk3s can be shifted to store & out of the way. Not spoken to any Ipswich/Colchester crew about Manea but ASDO must be doing its thing.Excellent news, thanks, and yes great work on the ground.
Will surely make Crown Point a much easier place to operate when all 90s and Mk3s can get shunted off?

Must get down again and see for myself, next week perhaps.
Thanks very much. Two stop posts beyond the end of the platform towards March, One marked '3 car' the other '4 car'
I initially mis-read that as a Straw Beer Festival, must be some drinking going on in the Town somewhere though?Full service required next weekend. It is Whittlesea Straw Bear Festival. Next Saturday (18th) is the busiest day for Whittlesea in the whole year.
Cheers, yes!Looks like around 16 mk3s can be shifted to store & out of the way. Not spoken to any Ipswich/Colchester crew about Manea but ASDO must be doing its thing.
Onwards & upwards hopefully mate.

Yes thanks, have done. Not sure that the Grandchildren can sensibly get up from London (ECML part closure, service reductions and bustitutions etc.)Maybe just a bit of drinking. Google it, a day of madness but great fun.
Getting here by Train: 3 car units will be in operation on Greater Anglia trains on Saturday 19th Jan to allow more people to travel by train to and from Whittlesea.

Also, hope that GA can get the full 4 cars out and are using the day, not the date, shown on the Festival website!

Thanks, yes ECML is open with some lines closed and reduced services which are expected to be busy. Journey times on the route offered over 2hrs vice normal via PBO times of 1hr20-30.ECML is open. NRES is offering journeys Kings Cross to Whittlesea with one change at Ely every two hours.
its moved part of the bridge and knocked one of the lines out of alignment (slightly).
A bit of a disaster yesterday, it seems. RTT shows five return workings canxed.

That could mean half a day's wait at Manea (:
Plus a few who had to be taxied home from March or Ely?There was only one lady all of yesterday afternoon/evening that turned up for a cancelled train. She walked back towards the village after being told no trains were stopping.

Rare sighting in the Fens at Lunch when a Greater Anglia serive run instead of being cancelled. Moreso with it being a four car FLIRT.

I'm pleased to report that last Sunday the 1333 Whittlesea to Peterborough also ran (on time) and was a Flirt too. I was quite impressed by it all!Rare sighting in the Fens at Lunch when a Greater Anglia service ran instead of being cancelled. More so with it being a four car FLIRT.
