Surely Merseyrail would not have any involvement in any station on the Bootle Branch as Merseyrail access can only be via a reverse at Bootle Oriel Road from Liverpool Central. Trrains would obviously run from Lime Street via Edge Hill.
I believe the service even out of Lime Street would be operated by Merseyrail at least that’s what I understood.

Anything planned for next week to move the first set over or am I better checking on Monday?

Movement to the tunnel is held up by the French rail strikes.

From Merseytravel on Twitter... [link]

Fantastic news! We’re delighted to tell you that our first train has reached the UK after travelling through 3 countries and is in the South East – more updates to follow

Anyone know exactly where it is now? I am now scouring Realtime Trains to see if the path to Kirkdale depot has been input yet.

Pity I was "home" on Merseyside last week rather than now !

Anyone planning to take some photos of the delivery ? If so, could you put them in Media ?

I suppose it will be at some ungodly hour as a couple of reversals will be required at Bootle Junction and Sandhills.

Just noticed that David Powell, programme director for the Merseyrail fleet replacement, tweeted this morning in response to a (now deleted) query from someone:
We’ll be releasing details on the Merseytravel twitter feed. You might want to not go to bed early on Wednesday night ;)

Which would seem to be a pretty strong hint as to when 777003 is expected to reach Merseyside. There is nothing on RTT yet, but these workings tend to only appear at short notice.

There's a routine "Q" path in the system for Wednesday mornings from Dollands Moor at 02.44 to Crewe Basford Hall; might they use that one for 777 003 and then path it on to Liverpool from there?

It is booked to arrive at Kirkdale Depot "after midnight" on Thursday morning after three reversals - at Down Wapping, Bootle Junction and Sandhills.

Well Crewe would be better if you want to see it in the daylight!
The Balliol end of Bootle Oriel Road has a good vantage point for the reversing move.

I'll actually be on a train heading in the other direction, so will be able to see it if I get the timing right.

Thanks for that.

I didn't understand a first reversal at Wapping Down ( as per Childwallblues) it seemed much more logical to use the Olive Mount curve.

Get those cameras out guys and pray for decent weather !

It is booked via Olive Mount Curve -- after spending 12 hours parked in the Crewe area. Unless they move it straight indoors at Kirkdale, photos may be possible with a telephoto/zoom lens from Kirkdale station, or from the Stanley Road overbridge (2 minutes walk from Bank Hall station.)

According to Realtime Trains (if I'm reading it correctly) it will be doing the reversing sidings at Bootle Oriel Road at 2358 to 0028, through Bank Hall at 0031 and Sandhills at 0034 to 0039. Should be able to get some good shots and video from all those places. I wish I could be there.

Can I ask a question? Why are they not bringing them through Hunts Cross? That (to me) would be the more logical route. Is there a way from the mainline (to Lime Street) to switch over to Merseyrail just before Liverpool South Parkway? Through the underground to Sandhills and straight onto Kirkdale. None of this faffing about using reversing sidings at Bootle Oriel Road and Sandhills.
