I was really bored and trying to make my own GEML timetable but I came across a problem during the peaks for spacing between trains on the. I've heard that GA want to upgrade it to 2 minutes between trains but no other information.

Anyone know anything about train headways on the GEML?

Two minutes Liverpool Street to Shenfield, Three minutes to Southend and Ipswich East Suffolk Jn currently. There has been talk of some form of computerised signalling between Chelmsford and Liverpool Street to gain extra capacity however as to if and when that comes along well thats anyone's guess.

Good luck :)
Southminster, Braintree, Sudbury, Walton and Harwich branches all have bits of single line to add to the fun, as does Colchester Town station. Doing a timetable in one direction is fairly straight forward, getting it to work in the opposite direction too without clashing on the single lines is more of a challenge.
Don’t forget 2 non-stop class 4 freight paths per hour between Stratford and Ipswich.

Nearly finished but the Clacton/Walton/Colchester Town is madness. People at the level crossings will love them being down for 45 minutes i think an hour ;)

Edit: Thanks 170101 for the info, has helped and my 4 minute spacing should probably hold well enough for ga standards

Yes, the very best of luck in doing this.

Don’t forget platforming at Liverpool St, which is quite an issue (especially when one goes next year).

Could always download the timetable planning rules, then look at what you have done, and then probably cry at what a nightmare it is!
