Hi, I'm looking at booking a train for tomorrow (15/01/2020) going from Warwick Parkway to London. Need to arrive in London by Midday but leave between the 4pm -> 7pm peak time. Looking at fares, it seems that this is prohibited on Super Off Peak return. Is it possible to somehow split somewhere on the way back, so you still leave London at around 16:30 but don't end up paying peak for the whole trip back to Warwick? Wondering whether a combo of tickets may do it?

You could try splitting at High Wycombe, provided your train stops there. There isn't a Super Off Peak Ticket, but the Off Peak day return only has morning restrictions. You have to arrive at Marylebone after 10:00 am.

I found on brfares the
Standard
RETURN
SUPER OFFPEAK R [PV]
OPR

From WARWICK PARKWAY
To LONDON TERMINALS
Route VIA BANBURY

for £32.30. Is this not a Super Offpeak return (sorry if I'm missing something...).

Does the return bit have a different restriction to the outward? From what I can see on brfares, the restrictions are as follows:

Restriction Code: PU

Restricted Days:

Mondays-Fridays

Outward Travel
Not valid on trains timed to depart London Marylebone or London Paddington after 04:29 and before 08:30, or after 16:00 and before 19:00.
Not valid on trains timed to depart Reading after 04:29 and before 09:30, or after 16:30 and before 19:00.

Return Travel
Not valid on trains timed to arrive at London Marylebone or London Paddington after 04:29 and before 11:30.
Not valid on trains timed to arrive at Reading after 04:29 and before 11:00.

However, on the main page it has the following:

Outward: NOT VALID DEP LONDN BEFORE 0830 OR 1600-1900 MO-FR
Return: NOT VALID TO ARRIVE LONDON BEFORE 1130 MON-FRI

It has something about Unpublished restrictions. If they are unpublished, what does that mean for validity?

Suggestion was to buy a Warwick Parkway to High Wycombe ticket and a High Wycombe to Marylebone ticket, thereby getting a different set of restrictions.

Try using National Rail Enquiries and see what comes up. Depending on the stopping pattern, the split might also work for Princes Risborough, Haddenham and Bicester.

Splitting at Bicester N is I think the best from the looks - Off peak Warwick P to Bicester N is valid to leave after 0843, and no restrictions on return from Marylebone; Off peak return Bicester to Marylebone is valid to arrive after 1000, no evening restrictions. Needs to stop at Bicester N - not all the Marylebone <-> Warwick Parkway trains do, so make sure you get the right train.

16.70 + 28.10 = 44.80 compared to 51.50 for the off peak return via Banbury.
