MetroCentre platform extensions

Lengthening work started this week : https://www.networkrail.co.uk/news/...e-station-will-mean-more-seats-for-passengers
But MetroCentre is shown in the sectional appendix as having 100m operational length on both platforms, and 4-car 156s stop there already. What will be enabled by this work? 6-car services? 4-car 195s?

Seems to be from the very first sentence

Network Rail is working with Northern to extend both of the platforms at MetroCentre station, to allow newer trains with more seats to call there.

That would be nice! Northern's services up here in the North East hardly ever have more than 2 coaches!

I don't think 195s will be working that far north. Even the proposed Middlesbrough-Carlisle Northern Connect service was planned to be worked by refurbished 2-car 158s.
