Evening all,

I have assessments for both of these positions coming up. If I were to fail both assessments (hopefully that doesn’t happen), would that count as two strikes and thus I would be unable to apply again?

Thanks in advance.

I was advised by OPC that it would when I had MTR Crossrail and Southern/ GTR applocations in. I was advised to only have one running at a time. So depends which role you want. Choose and go for that one....Unless of course you are that confident you'd pass both assessments

I don't believe it would count as your 2 attempts as they are two totally different assessments as you will find out.
It has to be the same assessment to count as your 2 strike rule which means if you do happen to fail the drivers assessment twice and they change it sometime in the future then you could actually try again.

Hi Trainee101,

That’s what I was hoping. Having looked at all the assessments for both positions, there certainly isn’t any crossover. I’ll give the recruitment team a call on Monday just to confirm.

When I took my drivers assessment I was asked if I had ever been for any assessments before. I had passed a guard one 7 years previous but this wasn't even taken into consideration. As far as they were concerned it was my 1st attempt at a drivers assessment. Probably best to double check but I'm sure you'll be fine.

No, the two rule strike applies to the driver assesments only. The guard assesments is different. I think swr are not too fussed about having different applications in so I don't think they will ask you to go ahead with one application.

Ok thanks Twotwo. It’s going to be a busy time travelling back and forth to Southampton, thankfully it’s where I’m originally from and where my parents still live.
