I already have a application in with northern for trainee driver at leeds that is at the first stage application in process. Could I apply for another trainee position with northern because i am within 45 minutes of the job advertised for hull or do they only consider you for one post?

On the old Northern careers website you were asked if had an ongoing application as part of any new application. If you selected yes, the application process would end and you could not proceed further.

I'm not sure how it will work on the new job site. If in doubt speak with HR

Silly question.. but just incase anyone has any prior experience... If I retract an application (for Sheffield), will it let me submit it again?

I was working this evening when I first saw the link so did my best on my break to get it in before it closed. Since there are 2 positions open but they only allow one application at a time, I was hoping to maybe retract my initial application... and resubmit it as its still open and i'm at home armed with extra time a laptop.

What’s the worst that can happen? It just fires back as a No or it goes through ok? Go for it!

Doncaster hi
There are two questions on the application-

'Have you previously applied for a role with any of the Arriva Group Companies?' & 'Do you currently have a live application for a Train crew (Conductor or Driver) vacancy with Northern?'

After answering 'yes', it doesn't ask for any further details and the application is submitted as normal. Guessing they will sort out which ones are more suitable....

DB is such a large company that you end up with loads of applications through the same web, hopefully not all go through the same recruitment department!

They won't.

DB Cargo have their own recruitment team. Same for CrossCountry, same for Northern, sane for London Overground and so on.

I can only imagine if you say no when you have a live application they would just dismiss your application.

If you can't follow a simple question like that could you follow the rules and regulations to being a train driver?

Dont start.

That’s also out of date, as of yesterday full money will increase to £54500.
nice! take it that also increases trainee pay and pay across the stages? Any updates figures on these?

Thanks in advance.

Believe it or not if the recruitment team need to whittle applications down that’s one way they’ll do it... weeding out people that do not follow instructions.

I have a Driver application with northern at a depot within the 45 minutes from my house applied in December.

This one is also within the 45 minutes of the depot, should i apply?

I know you get asked the question if you have a Application in Already, would love to work at either depot. But does it go against you applying for 2 depots 30 mins from each other? Spreading your bets in a way. Or is it just the fact they have been added months apart and go for it?
