It’s finally happened..........

Allelys have put on their Fb a few pics of one of 205’s driving carriages being torn apart at the JR Adam & Son scrapyard, looks like the process started as soon as it was unloaded from the low loader. Not a pretty sight sadly!

Has anyone been able to confirm where 214/205 motor vehicles went?
Has 202 been removed from Shields yet?

202 is now gone. I know 214's pantograph carriage went down south though I'm not sure if 205's went the same way.

It's like a "Snuff Movie" for 314 fans - wonder if he was trained on an arcade grab machine full of old Lima Mk1s

Can 209, 210 and 216 be offloaded onto road vehicles at Yoker or will they have to be taken elsewhere?

I would think that they would have to go to Glasgow Works for onward movement since 215 went there before it went to the scrap yard

205’s trailer also went to Adam & Son.

I notice that the destination blinds of the units that have recently met their demise were missing. Perhaps Scotrail are planning on raising more money for charity by selling them?

It appears that some more 314 carriages have been taken to Long Marston.

It would be interesting to see what they're doing with the pantograph coaches at Long Marston. Dunno why they haven't taken any of the driving carriages though

Not making a 314 "D-train" are they? ;)

The sidings in question are owned by Quinton Rail Technology Centre (Long Marston), not Vivarail.

There must be something of value in the middle vehicle that the two end coaches dont have, that could be of use to someone developing rail vehicles at Long Marston

You seemed to indicate that it can't be Viva Rail as the sidings belong to Quinton. Do Viva Rail operate on a different part of the Long Marston complex?

The QRTC (Long Marston site) is owned by Mowden Properties. Vivarail lease their own dedicated sidings and workshop, along the west side of the site, but also lease general purpose sidings to store unrefurbished D Stock carriages.

The Class 314 carriages will be stored on the general purpose sidings; they won't have anything to do with Vivarail, unless Viva has acquired the coaches for some reason.

Apologies for going OT; there's plenty of railway carriages and wagons coming and going from the general purpose sidings, I figure the Class 314 PTSOs are a surprise arrival.

Maybe the equipment to build a 25KV D train. Pantograph, VCB, Transformer, etc. Would be a cheap supply of these items.

So you're not saying its defintiely not Viva then?
