142090 made it to sheffield yesterday evening,returning on the 1915 back to Piccadilly

Not a 142,But i was on a Northern 10p ticket trip to Hull yesterday and was suprised to see 144002 on a Bridlington to york service ,usually a 150 or a 155 working (i thought pacers had vanished from Hull since the start of the new timetable 
)

There is a regular morning working from York to Bridlington and return M-F, not sure about saturdays though. 150104 & 142090 on 2K66 to Kirkby at 1122 and 150106 & 142011 on 2J26 to Rochdale at 1500, both at Salford Crescent today.
Today I saw 12 of the 14 active Northern 142's as follows:

As an aside I had / saw my first 195 to Dewsbury. 195 109 worked the delayed 21:17 Leeds to Manchester Victoria via Dewsbury and Brighouse rather than the usual 158. I was surprised because I had been told just before Christmas by a Northern employee that 195's were not cleared for Brighouse. Clearly they are now so I assume this means more surplus 158's to cascade downwards...

142051+156455 on 1240 to Rose Hill seen at Piccadilly yesterday. I had the unfortunate pleasure of a bouncy ride! 
Sadly not. I suspect one more may have been on the Kirkby / Wigan route as I didn't see all the sets working this route.
Any idea when it started ?

I can confirm that a 142 was on the Kirkby to Manchester Vic route yesterday. It was on the 12:35 from Kirkby.

Many thanks. Not many out today. Saw none on Rose Hill / New Mills services and none on Kirkby line. 011 / 036 / 055 / 078 were on Blackburn and Clitheroe to Rochdale with minders. There were 7 on NH visible from passing trains with only 004 / 041 / 043 / 047 /058 identifiable.

142078 was on the rear of a 2 car Class 158 on the 18:41 Manchester Victoria to Clitheroe today.
The 10:35am Kirkby to Manchester Victoria was short formed today with a single 150/2. Usually on a Saturday it is a 150 and 142.
There were quite a lot of cancellations today; the 11:55 Manchester Vic to Wigan Wallgate was cancelled due to 'more trains than usual undergoing maintenance'.
The 18:00 Stalybridge to Manchester Vic was cancelled. The 18:26 Manchester Vic to Kirkby was cancelled due to 'problems with lineside equipment', as was the 20:10 Wigan Wallgate to Blackburn. All of the Southport services that I saw were only two carriages and very full.
With available units on depot , why arn't Northern Rail giving these people a seat....like they've paid for
The two weekday evening Hope Valley stopping turns booked for 4 car sets have reliably produced 142s since the new year: one set works the 16:49 Man Picc - Sheffield, 18:14 SHF - MAN, 19:49 MAN - SHF and 21:14 SHF - MAN and the second set works the 17:49 MAN - SHF, 19:14 SHF - MAN, 20:49 MAN - SHF and 22:47 SHF - MAN.
Tonight gave 142036 on the first turn and 142051 on the second. Last night 142051 and 142045 were out, each accompanied by a 150 or 156. The full length trip on the 'stopper' costs £7 for an adult single each way, if bought before departure. A Derbyshire Wayfarer covers Sheffield to New Mills Central which is useful if starting from my end of the route. Here's 142051 at Sheffield platform 7 last night, awaiting its 21:14 departure to Manchester Piccadilly. *Edited to correct a unit number*
