The 0451 Plymouth Paddington collided with buffers on platform 1 at paddington today. Pair of 5 car 802s likely to have a little damage at least so gonna be even more short forms id imagine on the b and h!
Problem is the west country is hourly whereas Bristol for example has 4 tph .Plenty of 5-car short forms on the Bristol and Swansea route today just in case anyone thinks the West Country is getting a worse deal than elsewhere.

Not if you're traveling to/from Reading, Swindon, Chippenham or Bath!
Not too mention journey time on a short form to chippenham or bath of little over an hour compared to 3 hours 10 mins to (say) Plymouth.Reading gets lots of services, Swindon 5tph, whilst I may slightly agree with Chippenham and Bath, it's still only half an hour wait for the next train to those, compared to an hour.
On the face of things, nothing too bad (obviously, 'they' need to do proper structural checks inside to be sure).Pic here from the Daily Express: https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1...train-crash-great-western-railway-london-news
Does anyone know if there was any other damage further back on the train?
I'm interested from the viewpoint of comparison with the collision in November last year at Neville Hill.
