The electric e400s are sadly white elephants. Really a waste - are they parked up with the Bath hybrids ;)

Mind you, I'd say the new X39 colour scheme (that looks interesting and is well overdue) is much more in "teal" and so like the Atlantic Coasters livery rather than 39191/2 - they're blue! Looking forward to these new liveries in Bristol and Bath. Now if they could repaint some more of Bath's fleet in blue....but it is always the way!

Full withdrawal??

Bit of a change from April 2018 when they doubled it to half hourly in line with the big Discover relaunch.
So will that save 4 buses? Quite a knock for Westbury outstation though. I would suggest goodbye to the Scanias 65724/5/6 although 726 has already got a blown engine.

A new bus has appeared on the A4 route. Fleet number A514, same type as 511/510. WR69 JYP is the registration.
Wonder if A512/513 are abouts too.

Another one bites the dust. That is disappointing, esp, as GW pointed out it was only two years ago it had its frequency increased. Sad times with Wiltshire services looking very like Somerset. Cant see anything replacing it unfortunately. So much has gone in the last few years.

The problem is that Faresaver have a very good model whereby they have a core PVR for a route and then can add further vehicles into the service after and before schools. First just have never been able to overcome that.

How long before Faresaver decide to have a crack at part of the D1 and GoAhead the other part of it? And Westbury just closes all together?

Faresaver haven't shown any inclination to take on the D1 and, to be fair, they have now got quite a nice little business with the X31, X34 and now the X72 to themselves.

What makes you think that GA will want to have a go at the D1 (assume between Warminster and Salisbury)?

Say First would to pull that part of the D1 who else would have it other than GA?

Reading the article it seems people are quite sad to see their First service going, esp given its long history serving the town. But you cant say First didn't give it their best.

I can't see why people are unhappy, the public had a choice. The public made their choice and prefer Faresaver with its 30min headway for most of the day and the fact its goes to Devizes most of the day. Its just like Chippenham route.

Do any of our insiders know if there any particular vehicle or driver shortages at Lawrence Hill at the moment? Services to and from Kingswood seem much less reliable and more packed this week. I travel to Old Market from Kingswood at around 7am most days and on Tuesday morning there were no seats at all on the 43 when I boarded. Usually, there are tens!

No driver shortage but there can be bus shortages, today was fine but I know yesterday they struggled in the afternoon run out. It all depends how many buses maintenance take etc.

From the 17th of February it should get better as your new biogas buses start their service life !
