I don't know if this is covered anywhere else but feels like a good topic.

It's for those sections of track, long or short, that are hard to figure out if used by timetabled passenger trains in the UK.

If they are used by passenger trains then timings would be most appreciated.

I hope others can add to this list but mine to start with are:

  • Streatham S to N junc. The single up lead (on the west side).
  • Petts Wood junc. to Bickley junc.(west lines). Think this was used on the original Eurostar route.
  • The down slow Stafford to Crewe from the 'newish' Searchlight Lane junc.

Thanks.

Thanks.

That bit is used by quite a few Liverpool services now. Although what's booked can run Fast line and what's not can run slow line on occasions. The easy way to see what's booked over the slow is to do a detailed search on realtimetrains and search for Searchlight lane Junction. Anything not going via Stoke will be using the 'new' slow line.

Streatham S-N occasionally gets used during weekend engineering works, if the Slow Lines through Balham are blocked.

The 700 that leaves Orpington platform 1 about half five in the morning goes that way.

Thanks all of you!

Additionally, on 18 April the diverted 2Rxx and 2Wxx Victoria - Ramsgate/Dover services will be using these lines all day.

Also used for Hastings services diverted via the Mid-Kent (often 1Yxx). This happens regularly when the mainline is closed north of Chislehurst - indeed it happened last Sunday: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/83513/2020-01-26/detailed
