Tonight's trains were
37421 on 1701 and
150251+142074 on the 1746.
Looks like 37418 has gone to Crewe.
37025 went light to Rhymney earlier

Not surprised 37418 has gone - one bank was producing some quite acrid black smoke on Friday (suspect turbo?).

Rhymney 37s are supposed to be continuing until 6th march 2020. After that I dont know what tfw have up their sleeves although 769008 is moving around Canton depot under it's own power

769008 won't be in service by that time as it will have to do some various test runs and crew training first. The ex EMR 153s are earmarked to fill in in the meantime until 769s available.

Or to put it another way, after TfW stop using 37s and MkIIs on the Rhymney line, they're not going to start/continue using them anywhere else.

Who said 37418 had gone to Crewe ? It was spotted at Canton today attached to it's stock.

They'll probably keep the 37's on standby duty until all the 769's are in service.

That's what a few spotters told us.

The Colas Depot is not at Crewe

Some spotters might have got confused with this light engine movement yesterday - 0M01 0718 Cardiff Canton Sidings to Crewe T.M.D.

I don’t know what worked it but Most likely a 67?

But guess some people may have thought it was 37418

Feel free to correct if I’m wrong :)

1MO1 was indeed a 67.
67001.67013 made a trip back yesterday
I was told.
Tbh both 37s didnt sound at all well when
I videoed these on Monday.
Both sounded ill when ticking over.
418 left a trail of thick black exhaust when it departed Heath High Level.

Don't know where all th GA 153s are.
I have only seen one all week. 153306.
I did see one at Chester on my way down though.
Slightly OT,but the Bay shuttles have been a 143 this week too.
Surely if they replaced the 37s with 153s,they would need 3 on each service?

I think they went to Landor last week also I agree they would probably need 3 if a pacer / 150 isn't enough with them being 2 car units

But failed at Energlyn & Churchill Park judging by local social media posts and Journeycheck.
The whole operation is a bit of a shambles. Nothing like the EWS locos that ran 15 years ago. The security staff do their best to make it an unpleasant experience. They won't even let people take photos at Rhymney. Search for Rhymney on Twitter.
