On Twitter one of the commuter groups has retweeted a tweet regarding a supposed closure between Woking and Haslemere from 10/4 - 19/4... is this correct?

(I’ve not provided a direct link to the users tweet as I’m not sure where that leaves me in regards to any employer social media policy. Anyone that is desperate to interact with the original tweet and search for the feed of the association of British commuters on twitter. )

@SW_Help is this correct, 10/4-19/4 no trains between WOK-HSL being replaced by buses? 10 Days!

Will you validate ST's to use ALT-WAT line instead?

We've had a month of strikes, numerous train derailments, signalling & stock issues, what compensation are you providing ST's?

Seems to be true if I'm reading https://www.southwesternrailway.com/plan-my-journey/planned-improvements/april-2020-works correctly

All lines in the Guildford area, except platform 1 and the route via Effingham Junction, will be closed until Sunday 19 April for major work to renew junctions and trackwork in the station area.
The service shown will run from Tuesday 14 to Friday 17 April. Please see separate information for the weekend of 18/19 April.

“Fast” trains between London Waterloo and Portsmouth via Haslemere will call at Surbiton instead of Woking and then run as far as Guildford.
Other trains on this route will only run between London Waterloo and Woking.
Buses will run between Woking, Guildford and Haslemere. Passengers from and to London Waterloo should use trains to and from Guildford to connect with the buses.
A revised train service will run between Haslemere and Portsmouth.
Trains between London Waterloo and Dorking / Guildford via Epsom will run to a revised timetable to fit in with other services at Guildford.
Trains between London Waterloo and Guildford via Cobham will only run between London Waterloo and Effingham Junction. Please use other train services between Effingham Junction and Guildford.
Buses will replace the train service between Guildford and Farnham.
Other train services through Aldershot will run as normal.

Long distance passengers from London Waterloo and Woking to Portsmouth should use trains between London Waterloo and Portsmouth via Eastleigh/Fareham to avoid the buses.

I must have been looking at the wrong part of the website, but using the link in post #3 I’ve found the following

All lines in the Guildford area will be closed throughout the Easter weekend for major work to renew junctions and trackwork in the station area.
This work will continue until Sunday 19 April although from Tuesday 14 April a limited train service will run into platform 1 at Guildford. Please see separate information for these dates.

Good Friday, Saturday and Holiday Monday service

  • One train an hour will be diverted between Woking and Portsmouth, calling at Fareham. Long distance passengers should use these trains where possible to avoid the buses.
  • An altered train service will run between London Waterloo and Woking.
  • Buses will run between Woking and Haslemere.
  • A revised train service will run between Haslemere and Portsmouth.
  • Trains to and from Guildford via Effingham Junction will only runbetween London Waterloo and Clandon. Times may be altered as all trains must use platform 2 at Clandon.
  • Buses will run between Clandonand Guildford.
  • Buses will replace the train service between Guildford and Farnham.
  • Other train services through Aldershot will run as normal.

Sunday service

  • The normal train service will run between London Waterloo and Woking.
  • Buses will run between Woking, Guildford and Haslemere.
  • A revised train service will run between Ascot and Aldershot.
  • Buses will run between Aldershot and Guildford.
  • The additional late afternoon “fast” services between London Waterloo and Portsmouth will not run.

Long distance passengers from London Waterloo and Woking to Portsmouth should use trains between London Waterloo and Portsmouth via Eastleigh/Fareham to avoid the buses.

Great Western Railway services passing through Guildford are also affected by this work. Please see their publicity for details.

Original looks pretty correct to me, though it perhaps doesn’t stress that there is some service on the weekdays. Incidentally is Clandon an in service move via crossovers or an out of service shunt?

In service, trains terminate and start back from the down platform. There is a crossover at the London end of the station.
