I'm in Tenby with my parents and we fancied a curry. I tried Just-Eat which came up with no results at all for any kind of food. Same for UberEats (and Uber itself).

Obviously Tenby's only a small town (c.5k in the winter) but it got me wondering: what is the largest town in the UK that has no access to Just-Eat and/or Uber?

I've just checked my postcode on Uber Eats, but its site comes up with nothing locally. I'm not familiar with it, but I assume (and correct me if I'm wrong) that it would require an existing Uber presence in the area. I've just checked Deliveroo and similarly there are no local results.

Just Eat has been around here for a couple of years now, with several outlets listed. Living in a village a few miles outside of town, it certainly offers me a better choice for take-away. In the village we have a chippy and a Chinese that close at 8.30 and 9pm respectively, and now I can enjoy a kebab or pizza after closing time like anyone else.

Understandably, I still have to pay a few quid for delivery, but the charges aren't so bad if a few people are ordering. There is the added benefit that those outlets who aren't using the platform are now finding that they have more competition and have either lowered their own delivery charges, or have begun to deliver to areas that they previously didn't serve.

Drivers seem to be a mix of self-employed couriers and taxi drivers who might otherwise be having a quiet night.

I hear that Middlesbrough only has one Uber driver and they reject most service requests.
Firstly, the locals don't like Uber because the payment is taken upfront thereby preventing the opportunity to make off without payment.
Secondly, the Uber driver doesn't care much for the locals, and the app allows them to vet the hirers.

Milton Keynes only got it a couple of years ago (pushed forwards by a specific driver, and with them all London-licensed, I believe) and it is still a minority thing as the local minicab firms are well established, profitable and have Uber-like apps and yet substantially lower fares.

It was Just Eat I thought about first. Adding Uber has muddied my question a bit.

Consider yourself corrected. Dundee has no passenger Uber service but does have Uber Eats.
