007 out on the 20.00 Liverpool St to Norwich tonight, so presumably did 07.30 / 12.30 / 17.30 NRW-LST, and 10.00 / 15.00 LST-NRW too if it ran all day.

Are there any other 745s out and about for testing/mileage accumulation at present? I haven’t seen any reports or the 5Qxx workings between Norwich and London being activated on RTT recently.

Unless there is any information to the contrary, 007 and 010 must have had a very good week between Norwich and the capital which is really positive news.

Been a very good week indeed. Only one round trip cancelled due to a 745 late release from Crown Point with almost every thing working like clockwork on both weekday diagrams. I did hear that 002/006 are extremely close but there have been some setbacks during commissioning. Would be good to see another in traffic in the next few days.

Saw 002 passing through Stratford download soon after midday on what presumably was a test trip. 007 and 010 were in traffic this morning.

FISA LEAN seats are used, in Standard class, currently only on the GA FLIRTs. The only other place you get them is in SWR's 2+2 sham First.
In the future they will also appear on class 756s, 231s and possibly 196s.

Any word on the MK3s being allowed to go beyond March, or is there going to be a mass raid on the 321s from the Essex lines from the end of that month to cover for the late roll out of 745s?

007 on the 0740 from Norwich made an additional call at Stowmarket this morning due to the cancellation of the 07:35. This really did have a small impact on the timings:

https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/L41918/2020-02-12/detailed
It is allowed 20 minutes Diss to Ipswich start-to stop. Fastest Class 90 timings for Diss to Stowmarket and Stowmarket to Ipswich sections total just under 19 mins. So it is doable with a class 90 with 1 minute dwell time to spare.
A Class 745 with its superior acceleration would have been able to equal or better those times ..and have a minute or more dwell time and still remain on time subject to any other operating issues. The 745 would have been quicker to despatch too with its power doors.

Was interested to hear calls to 'stand behind the yellow line' when 745's are dispatched from the platform at Ipswich. The speed they have achieved by the end of the platform is amazing.

I see no impact. Or call!
It was 1/2 a minute early passing Haughley, and ended up 2 mins late passing Needham Market - unless it had to slow for a TSR or signals, it must have stopped even if RTT schedule does not show the additional call. There was also an additional minutes worth of engineering allowance used up too...so it would ordinarily have been 3 mins late. That suggests a Stowmarket stop was made as claimed.

I hope it stopped otherwise I imagined boarding the additional 08:08 service from Stowmarket.

Rumour time! 5P13 to run as a 745 from next week? Is this the diagram that ends up at Orient Way overnight before changing to IP02 for the next day for the first service out of LST? Bit of layman here, but eager to learn though!

how are they doing on dwell times on peak services with just the one door per carriage?

What they lose by only having one door they more than make up by it being an easy door to get in and out of that closes itself afterwards!

I notice the 07.32 from Ipswich to LST is often waiting 4 minutes for it's departure time. Pretty impressive to have picked up so much time from Stowmarket!
One really minor problem I note is that one of the doors ends up right by the main exit door off the platform at Ipswich, and the people seem to be 'kettled' somehow by the train door into one long continuous stream from train door to ticket barriers which stops others going anywhere. It was quite a queue last night and people being people don't seem to want to give way to anyone going the other direction. On another note, it's nice to see the rechargeable hoovers cleaning the 745 carpets between journeys.. and mops being used to remove scuff/muddy marks from the entrances. Long may it continue. This morning arriving into Norwich it was like coming into Zurich, Stadlers in all the platforms barr one MK3 set. Mind you I'd prefer to be in Zurich.

Far better than hauled stock. As said, Stansted might be more of a test.
Norwich to Stansted 755s between Cambridge and Stansted can be a nightmare in peak times due to lack of luggage racks. The cycle spaces end up becoming a Pseudo luggage area..and it gets congested as people scramble to get their luggage out. Passengers end up putting larger cases in the aisle by their seats which clogs it up considerably.

How feasible would it be to extend some Stansted Expresses to Cambridge?

I think passengers just need better training. Plenty of space under and between seats along with racks and overhead. Bit like with litter bins, people are often to lazy to look.

Do the Stansted units have additional luggage racks?
