General supply of paper timetables is patchy to non-existent. And any you may find will be operator specific. The PTE doesn't print paper any longer. However if you visit the travelsouthyorkshire website, you can download (and thereby print for yourself) PTE produced PDF timetables which are (where relevant) multi-operator.

Is it possible to pick up paper bus timetables anywhere in Doncaster.
TIA.

The First Travelshop upstairs in the Shopping Centre has a small supply (Inc some Stagecoach Yorkshire) The information desk in the Interchange does (mostly Stagecoach East Midlands) but you have to ask for one and they only had Stagecoach ones when I was there a few days ago

Thanks for the reply. I visited both mentioned and obtained a selection of stagecoach and first leaflets.

If you go to York, its gone the same way.

You can pick up timestables from Transdev, Connextions, East Yorkshire Motor Services, York Pullman and Reliance. If your wanting one for First then you'll have to ask either in the info centre or at the bus info desk in the railway station, as First York no longer prints them, at least in Doncaster they are printed.

York City Council[or whatever they're called] used to have their own travelshop on Rougier Street, that's long been closed though.

After it closed which is probably about 15 years ago now, there was a period where bus timetables (as they were still printed) were available in various half hearted locations like various tucked away locations in the library and the council offices. If you want to date that era I remember seeking out the Veolia timetables in a council drop in centre opposite the theatre.

Then they had a rethink and got fully back into buses, so opened the bus info desk in the railway station, started doing the bus map, and ensured timetables were also available in the tourist information centre and it was as good as it ever was.

What’s happened now is now the opposite though, York City Council still staff the bus info point, and still do maps, it’s now the operator that’s stopped doing timetables.

Not everyone has a smartphone or knows how to work one, i know a few mates who just have a standard mobiles[no internet the like] not publishing paper timetables makes it harder for them to use buses, apparently Merseytravel are doing away with paper timetables later this year, you can only get Merseytravel bus maps online now
