Sad to see the first go. I thought they were marvelous looking machines when they first came out. Didn't BR have a Type 3 version planned along with a Pax version?
60086 was purchased with 60006 by ron hull for scrap but there are reports it may possibly be saved.are any more scheduled to be scrapped?
Yes forgot about that one also 60081 was purchased on the same tender but is being cosmetically restored for display at the hornby museum in margate. As Far north 37 says plus Raxstar bought 050 from the same lot

Just reported as a private sale same as 60081 was at the time wonder if the two are linked possibly. The only mystery from that batch seems to be 060, reported as sold to a 'private buyer' but I've not seen anything about it since

Yes you wonder how much a state some of them are actually really in.As you say, although if it was LSL I would've thought they'd be happily announcing it
There are a few others that have been 'in the news' in recent months, 004, 008, 014 & 018 were bought by GBRf at the same time as DCR bought their four, they were reportedly bought as spares donors for the GBRf fleet so will obviously end up meeting the torch when their usefulness comes to an end, there is also 038, temporarily swapped with 029 by DCR but dropped from the Super60 group because of water damage, you have to wonder just how bad the damage is and if it makes 038 spares fodder as well
I have been told that 60086 has arrived at the Wensleydale Railway today

Preservation? Or will it see further commercial use?
If it was to see further commercial use then surely it would have stayed at Toton for the work to be done there, DBC have been taking around 6 months to put a 60 through the Super60 with all the facilities and trained staff that they have along with the large pool of spares donors available to them to make use of, I'd be very concerned for the financial future of any preservation group attempting such a rebuild
60006 and 60086 went to Ron Hull as a pair, I'd imagine that 086 will go the same way quite soon

60086 purchased by ron hull has been resold on to the same private buyer that bought 60060, 60050 purchased by raxstar has also bben offered for resale.

Just as addition to that, with 60060 said to be following 086 it would be interesting to know how much has already been spent with the purchases, storage at Toton and road transfers, it certainly shows the levels of commitment needed in the preservation world
According to RailAdvent today 60086 plus 142028 & 142060 have arrived at the Wensleydale Railway. The pacers are planned to be used for offpeak/educational duties.
60081 is due to move to the Hornby Rail Museum in Margate, as a static exhibit. Cosmetic work is due to be undertaken at Toton before the 'orliers come with their lorry.
May as well get some extra income by letting people see in the storage site.Didn't realise that LSL are opening a proper railway museum there! Thought it was just becoming a storage facility.
They were busy yesterday! They also took 4 pacer carriages to ScotlandIt did, transported by Allelys so may well be in the next series of Train Truckers, if there is a next series of course ........
Anywhere in particular, or just dumped over the Border? They were busy yesterday! They also took 4 pacer carriages to Scotland

Hopefully it won't just be yet another line of scrap on a heritage line. The purchase of 3 locos is quite extravagant for a preservation project. I wonder if there might not be some sort fledgling TOC in the offing perhaps bidding for transfer work or RHTT
