Morning all.
With a fast moving jet stream pointing straight at the UK and a huge area of deepening low pressure underneath it, we're in for choppy weather in the South on Sunday. This system is unusual in that unlike most Atlantic storms which lose wind strength as soon as they hit land (so only coastal areas bear the brunt) this one won't weaken. Jet Streams are like fuel for low pressure systems so this one could see gusts of up to 75mph in spots inland anywhere South of the M62. Exposed high ground could see 80mph gusts.
It's bound to affect travel plans, but the exact location of the system won't be known until it has properly formed on Sunday morning. The latest and most accurate information can be found on the Met Office Website warnings page here; https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice
Feel free to post updates, observations, news and unusual workings here.
