wait till you get the material , it's all you need

Alright sound, thank you. I was just hoping someone could tell me what tests are involved so I can start getting early practice in, I really need to move on from my current job before I go insane so really want to do well haha. Do I need to practice the SCAAT test as well as group bourdon?

Ah well, I just received a negative email from my third applicatoin to Northern. This time it was the Blackpool line which they are no longer progressing. Ah well, very disheartening but I guess I just wait for the next one.

apart from the bourdon you can't practise really until they send the practise material out, you can download that from the link at the top

That's the spirit keep going. This forum is littered with threads from people saying it took 5/6 attempts to get through the sifts. Good luck.

I've passed the application and been invited to interview. Can anyone confirm whether this is a DMI or an MMI? As it is only an interview and mentions assessments at the next stage (if successful), I am assuming it is the DMI which comes first?

Thanks.

Driver manager interview. They won't usually send you for tests unless you pass the job interview.

How long ago did you guys apply? I applied for a position in Darlington on the 19th January and mine still says application in process.

I had start about 6 weeks after medical. Have they given you a provisional start date yet?

Was offered a start date before my medical. Which I can’t accept as I have a holiday in June. I’m expecting a call in April to arrange a start day for July onwards

Devastated, Northern have decided they aren't taking on drivers for Darlington anymore. I think they have completely binned the recruitment there. I'm wondering if that's because of the take over?

Anyone else heard anything about dates for Manchester courses this year?
I had an interview on Tuesday with the leading DTM. He mentioned that there are courses starting every month up until May, but nothing planned after that - but said don't worry as vacancies do come up when drivers leave/move/retire etc.

Thanks for this.

That’s a little disappointing to hear as I can’t start until July due to pre booked holidays.

I’ll remain positive and wait to hear from them

I'm the same - holiday booked in June.

They're taking on 6 drivers per month up until then.

For me it’s a £2k holiday, so I can’t afford to lose that much money. Plus I have a 6 week old baby and a few weddings on weekdays so I’m prepared to wait & re interview if necessary. And I’ll also be halving my salary in year 1, so it gives me longer to save up before my wage drops as I have a wife & 2 kids to support. I’m sure it will come good in the end
