Someone mentioned the relationship to Woolworths and the Sea side.

Brighton had two, not particularly close to any of the NR stations though!

Hove’s was about 5-10 minutes walk downhill towards the sea.

Portslade’s 2-5 minutes walk from the station, again towards the sea, not that’s there’s much of a sea side there unless oil drums are your thing ;)

Elsewhere:

Inverness:

Woolworths was in High Street/Lombard Street. Now a Poundland I believe.

Saperstein.

Very random thread ! - however , a very senior (retired) manager once tabled at a regional operations performance meeting , just for devilment - a graph tabling the opening hours of W H Smith branches , compared to local departure punctuality.

It was nodded through , with some approval comments.

Cross Gates had one in the adjacent shopping centre which itself had been a railway siding at one point.

Cheekily bending the question a bit, but.... Kassel Hauptbahnhof has a Woolworth on the concourse. They still exist in Germany (along with C&A) and are a discount store, much in the style of Wilkinson who have occupied many of the old Woolworths premises.

Richmond (Surrey), it was about 100 yards from the station back in the early 1960s, then it moved to a new, bigger shop about 300 yards away.

at the end of the high and low roads
Montrose, ~3 mins walk from the station if you knew about the wee lane which ran up the side of woolies.

Probably 2 mins if you were cheeky and entered via the loading bay!

was there one in Dumbarton Road, Glasgow, a stone's throw from Partick? Certainly one near Hillhead subway if that counts.

Oldfield Park had one right 'til the end, it's a boring Sainsbury's local now.

Bromley South certainly used to have one within a minute or so’s walk. It’s now a Sports Direct or similar, I believe.

There used to be a Woolworths in Lower Marsh, a couple of minutes' walk from Waterloo. The Woolworths in Kingston was in the market square, about a five-minute walk from the station; it became a Charlie Olsen shop, but that's recently closed down.

Dewsbury had a Woolworths, now Quality Save, just over 300m away (according to Google Maps) straight down Bond Street

Re seaside towns, Scarborough's Woolworths was next to the Brunswick Centre, now Poundland, also around 300m from the station down Westborough
