Does it particularly matter itll be done when its done.
I'd imagine itll be about a week later than the usual schedule taking into account having Christmas off and getting drivers for the locos to take it to and from Holbeck

I do love the 333’s and feel lucky that I get to use them as my daily commute but I do wish that Northern would take better care of them in terms of cleanliness. Granted it could just be the time or day but some of the refurbished ones are getting a bit loppy! (Sheffield-ism for dirty )

Surely it’s not Northern who make them dirty internally? But the passengers who travel on them, dumping litter and all sorts of detritus, spilling coffe and food etc? Do they also treat their own homes and cars the same?

They’re by far some of Northerns cleanest stock. I’m generally talking about the stains on the seats that accumulate through the sheer amount of passengers that they shift. They’re usually in top shape in the mornings and they’re a pleasant ride experience so I can’t complain, just an observation!

Hearing that 333016 is suffering from similar issues which may be terminal. Happy to be corrected though

Hopefully not as I'm sitting on board at the moment, approaching Baildon! Albeit with the front carriage tagged, which suggests that it might have been laid up somewhere.

Some poor photos of the unit being took through Leeds for Holbeck, i had to run half way across the station to make them as they went through the wrong platform

Is the last one not having the interior refresh 333 016 reported on here as out of use at Skipton with structural problems still stored?

I’m sure it’s been mentioned previously on here (apologies for missing it!) but what’s the reason behind 333009 currently sat on Derby wrapped up in Plastic?

Serious structural issues I believe.
Fair enough, seems to be an issue plaguing CAF stock of that age with the 332s suffering similar. I presume as it's gone to Derby it'll be repaired at some point though, more so as they've sheeted the thing over (bar coupler and snowplough).

It's supposedly going to get repaired, but it's going to take a few months to do so, however whether it's financially viable, when it's not the only 333 that apparently has this problem I'm not so sure. I've also heard " unofficially" that Northern were going to get rid of them all and have them replaced like for like for new units, 331 probably.

Aren't there tonnes of 350/2s coming off lease in the next couple of years? I wouldn't be surprised if in a couple years time the 333s would be retired.

I think after the 1st of March and Northern is back in public ownership, who knows, anything is possible.
