BSZ 1092 Volvo B10M / PS ex K788 DAO in use as a farm workers bus in West Cornwall. It previously served with A2B Newquay amongst others. I think the same operator may have BMC 68553 ex First. Also seen white Scania YS03 ZKT ex Webberbus. Happy Al’s......

a farm on the lizard has 3 BMCs and 3 ex Kernow Olympians now in red... T***KLF Olympians. They went to another operator post Kernow and went red and gained reregistrations. Unsure if they’ve returned to T***KLF plates

Another farm transport seen today was Scania YN53 GGA. It was displaying "672 West Kirkby Grammar School" on the destination display, probably a leftover from it's days with Happy Al's.

Whilst in Hayle this afternoon I captured the Mounts Bay Optare on a school run passing Foundry Square.

Are there many services in Cornwall that are not run by the big two, and are not Cornwall Council contracts, I.e commercial services run by independents?

Roselyn recently cancelled their two once weekly services that were commercial this year. They operated with non psvar coaches and I don’t believe they have any compliant single deckers so I’m guessing that was behind it

St Ives Bus Co. and Royal Buses, both based in St Ives, mostly provide services to car parks and caravan sites, but also to Carbis Bay and Hayle respectively: AFAIK they're commercial.

Mounts Bay Coaches look to be getting into schools transport in a bigger way. Parked up in the dual carriageway lay-by in close proximity to the depot over the last two or three days were an Optare in yellow and green and another, longer bus also in green and yellow but in a different arrangement (sorry, not good on recognising which makes relatively modern buses are at a glance.) is this part of the Cornwall Council retendering process? My possibly scurrilous thought is that something may fall its way from Rosevidney Travel with the adverse publicity the latter have recently received.

Recent additions to the Mounts Bay coaches fleet noted today. There were no staff around to find out any further details so their previous history is unknown to me.

Thanks for posting. Any idea what that yellow monstrosity is?

I think it is an Autosan looking at the manufacturers badge on the front.

It’s an Iveco/Vexihel school bus and was new to Staffordshire county council.
Truronian had WK04AOW and WK03EKH which were destroyed in a fire. It’s said the drivers celebrated their demise such were they so awful to drive. Apparently made the BMC feel like excellent buses!

Another new one (I think) I saw today, in passing at 40 mph, is registered OXI 725 in time-honoured Mount's Bay age concealment. The Autosan, if that's what it is, is the one I saw on the opposite carriageway lay-by last week, almost as if Mount's Bay couldn't quite admit to owning such a grotesquerie!

It’s not, see my post before yours for what it is! It’s worse than a autosan, and worse than a bmc,
Looks like something that started off as a model of a bus made by someone who had no interest in the subject and then got blown up by some giant balloon pump. I'm amazed it's capable of being driven, frankly. It'll be a nice one to meet when you're having a quiet drive down a country lane!

Pretty sure they were built somewhere you wouldn’t associate with quality. Can’t find much info about them

Vehixel are a French coachbuilder. I didn't realise they sold anything in UK but this seems to have been their only UK bus. In France their minibuses based on the Iveco Daily are reasonably popular in rural areas. However in terms of passenger carrying, they are best knowing for supplying the French CRS Riot Police with their vehicles. Anything from converted Ford Transits and Renault Masters up to this!

You can always count on Summercourt not to actually have anything new. :D

Is eight vehicles (7 PVR + 1spare) going to be enough to operate all their GCB routes?

they’re operating one direction of 25 Summercourt to Fowey, first service of morning at 0615 arriving fowey 0740,
The 28 st A to Lostwithiel has a 1 bus requirement all day
The 51 arrives back at St A 3 mins after the next departure has left. The 28 and 51 could well be inter working as the 28 arrives 25 mins before 51 leaves and departs 15 mins after the 51 arrives.
Looe to Polruan has a 1 vehicle PVR.
Truro town services appear unchanged, how many vehicles do they require at present?

I was told that they are expecting an E200 MX13 BAO which was ex Newport, with more to follow.

2 are from Ireland possibly via Ensign. The 5th identity is unknown to me as yet but seems will be this one
